River was sitting on the couch, reading a book, her feet sitting on the top of the couch.
Jaz was doing something... Potentially dangerous, as usual — a can of Monster (triple-shot java — 300 milligrams of caffeine as opposed to the usual 150), a 5-hour energy added in, and a pinch of pre-workout powder that he probably 'borrowed'."Good book?"
"Yeah, and what the heck are you doing?" She asked, rolling off of the couch and walking over. "That's a fuckton of caffeine-" River said, grabbing the monster. "This is a heart attack amount of caffeine"
"Energy cocktail. Haven't been able to sleep in three days and got a test later."
"I can help you study if that's what you need- not poisoning yourself with copious amounts of caffeine!" River added with a slight hiss.
"Studying won't do shit if my brain's mush. Think of it like those... Ehh... Painkiller cocktails people give to terminal patients at the end of their days. Not like I can die, anyways."(I've actually done this minus the protein powder, felt high for the first half-hour and then incredibly nauseous for the next 24. Probably gave myself caffeine poisoning but this dumbass has a much higher tolerance)
"Painkiller cocktails, yeah I guess so" She said, sitting the monster back down on the counter. She rolled her eyes a little, grabbing a small soda from the fridge, popping it open. (oh damn-)
"I'll try to sleep it off after... If I can sleep..."(Yeahhh fun experiment though. Tasted like cough syrup)
"Theres melatonin somewhere I'm sure" Raven said, cocking the can back and chugging it. "Probably in the bathroom"
"Prolly. Welp, time to ascend to godhood."He mirrored the action with his unholy concoction.
"Does melatonin even help? It never has worked for me, even when I was little"
"No idea. Weed works, though, last I checked-"
"Weed??? When did you start smoking that- damn"
"Like... 15 years ago...? Quit when I was locked in a storeroom for three years-"
"Yeesh.....is it even good? Sounds kinda gross"
"I mean... baked into things."
"Ive heard of people doing that, never did it myself"
"Made brownies a lot, puked 'em up later. Zel grew the stuff... Yes, even in middle school."

"Zel is Zel, he cleaned up... Ish."

"Still gardens, just doesn't sell. And... Well, he's Zel. Pretty sure his nursing license is a forgery."

"Jesus- that's......not good- yeah his hair is nice but damn-"
"I mean... What did you expect?"He leaned against the counter, stretching.
"I guess you cant really expect much" She hummed, throwing the can away.
