She was burning up, and both of her arms were bleeding, since she had re-opened all of the scars over them.

“You won’t be, promise.”He ruffled her hair.
She chuckled softly, jumping as Persephone walked into the door. ``Who's the new kid-``
“My lil’ sister,”He grinned.
``I thought all your siblings were dead- what makes her so different`` She asked, glaring at River.
“Isn’t everyone here dead?”
``Well yes, except for the werewolves`` River glanced around, noticing Persephone's glare before basically clinging to Jaz.
“Shh…”He ran a hand through her hair.
“It’s okay,”
``Why is my hair straightener on the floor?! You people are insufferable!`` Persephone yelled, and River covered her ears, sobbing.
“Hey, stop yellling,”He gave River a gentle hug, beginning to hum a lullaby.
She soon fell asleep, her grip loosening around Jaz. ``Ugh, keep it plugged in- and not on the fucking floor will you? Dont touch my stuff``

He kept stroking River’s hair, humming softly.
She put it back down, waiting for it to get hot enough. ``Did your sister do that- and oh boy is she quite.....boylike``
“Oh, great, a transphobe. Wonderful.”
River adjusted to be more comfortable, ``hm....?``

She yawned, falling back to sleep.``Okay bubba....``
He smiled softly, patting her head.
Persephone rolled her eyes, just laughing. ``Cute, but isn't he a bit too old for the 'bubba' crap?``
"She. And who cares? What does this have to do with you, in what way is this hurting you?"
Rio shuffled over and opened opened up the door, putting down the bags he had in his hands. "Hey guys I got the groceries."
She rolled her eyes. ``Just childish and what is he....like 17-18? Thats way too fucking old to be doing that``
He smiled."Bentornato, tesoro," (welcome back, darling)
Rio smiled at Jaz and took the bags to the kitchen."When did we get a new guest?"
