Mahin (mahina97) | 9 comments Books to pull me out:
Cruel Prince series
Song of Achilles
Circe
Lore
Crooked Kingdom

Recently finished Divine Rivals. Objectively great book, lots of moments I enjoyed, but i buddy-read it with a friend and would not have finished had I not been buddy-reading. Currently reading Mistborn but it's so boring and basic apart from the Allomancy magic system. I'm not sure what my tastes have convoluted to and was wondering if there's any recommendations.

Books that I enjoyed but didn't necessarily get me out of the slump:
Ali Hazelwood books (read like 4)
Divine Rivals
Norse Mythology

Books that I did not enjoy at all:
Red Queen
Shatter Me
Throne of Glass

Lynne Stringer | 344 comments Have you tried any of Juliet Marillier's books? She writes great fantasy based in Irish folklore. Most of them aren't YA but they're entertaining.

You could start with her specifically YA trilogy, Shadowfell. Shadowfell (Shadowfell, #1) by Juliet Marillier

However, I enjoyed her Blackthorn and Grim trilogy more, so you could start with Dreamer's Pool. Dreamer's Pool (Blackthorn & Grim, #1) by Juliet Marillier

I also liked Heart's Blood, which is a bit of a Beauty and the Beast retelling. Heart's Blood by Juliet Marillier

Harp of Kings is another more recent one. The Harp of Kings (Warrior Bards, #1) by Juliet Marillier

Mahin (mahina97) | 9 comments @Lynne Stringer Thank you for the recommendations :) the first one kind of reminds me of some aspects of the Witcher books. I'd also been wanting to diversify beyond just Greek mythology so these are really welcome recommendations

★HARI★ (hxrii_i) | 39 comments powerless or once upon a broken heart or the stolen heir series!!!

message 10: by Mahin (new)

Mahin (mahina97) | 9 comments @Hari I looked up the premise of powerless and the Stephanie Garner works, but they all seem really stereotypical, YA like any other.

stolen heir I plan to read eventually, I got myself a copy, I just hope it's as good as the trilogy
