Kyran and Hadrian's relationship is an interesting one, that will make more sense when you learn how Kyran ended up with him.
If Kyran goes back to his parents to become a proper family, then he'd be leaving Hadrian, which Kyran will never do. But Chris and Kate will see how close Kyran is to Hadrian and they won't handle it well. ;)

Will we be seeing Naina again? She was an interesting character as well. The whole time I was reading the part between her and Aaron I had a smile on my face. Naina is goofy, serious, and mysterious all at the same time.

I think they'll end up together. It won't be easy.
First Rose will have to accept the fact that she loves someone who is on the other side and who may or may not have participated when her parents was murdered. She also will need to forgive herself for having those kind of feelings for him. Then, Rose will have to learn to trust him (she's halfway there) and forgive him for watching his parents die (Kyran insisted that it was too late at that time.
Kyran - I think he truly loves her by taking the risk to warn her of the impending attack and will do anything to make sure she's safe.
There are some great questions that have been asked. I want to know how Ben's connection with his parents got severed because they truly felt his "death".
I wonder why Alaina never saw Alex's echo. Why is that? You clearly said he's dead (sooo sad...) and he loves her so she should technically be able to see his echo.
I want to read more about Neriah & Hadrian's brotherly relationship. It sounded like Neriah wanted to be the one and true leader but maybe he didn't mean to do it with malicious intention?!?!? Kind of like how Dumbledore had the ambition to "rule the world" but realized that his friend (or partner), Grindewald, had interpreted it in a more malicious way. Does this make sense?

Hi Vicky! Thanks for joining the discussion.
It does make sense. You will see more of Neriah and Hadrian's previous brotherly relationship in the last book (and in the novella) which will show what both their intentions were regarding the Mage realm.
Why Alaina can't see Alex's echo will be explained, and yes, it is very, very sad :(
Btw, I'm thrilled at seeing how much love Alex is getting :)

I also think they will end up together, but it will be a long and difficult process. Right now I feel like Rose is in a dark place when it comes to her feelings for Kyran, especially since she thinks he dropped the Salvador's gate and therefore had a role in the deaths of many people, including Armana. This is only going to get worse if he tries to kill Aaron, because she views him as a little brother. It's going to take a lot for her to forgive and trust him again, including the full truth coming out. Hopefully, the mages and vamages will put their civil war on hold in order to team up and take out Raoul. We've already see them do some serious damage to the Lycans when they work together. If that were to happen (which it probably won't), it would go a long way towards helping Rose forgive Kyran.
Kyran's biggest obstacle is that I don't think Hadrian would approve of him falling for a human. While Hadrian does seem to want to protect the human realm, like most mages (and vamages) he probably views them as beneath Kyran. I would love to see a father-son chat between Hadrian and Kyran discussing how Kyran can win over Rose. I feel like it would be a funny conversation.

Lol, I can just about see that conversation happening around the dinner table. :D
Hadrian won't tolerate Kyran falling for a human. Hadrian has the same attitude about humans as Skyler. You will see Hadrian's reaction to Kyran's feelings for Rose in the next book.

Kyran and Rose have to end up together! Seriously they are meant for each other. Sigh. It would terribly terribly sad if they didn't. Sure, it won't be easy by any means because both of them have to come to terms with certain issues, but they love one another and love is the best thing in the world (even in an imaginary one like in this book) :) I like it when you ask us questions...it gets me in my thinking "what if" mode. lol. Quick question about the novella. It will have lots of Chris and Alex moments right? Or will it solely be centered on Neriah and Hadrian.
S.F. wrote: "Hadrian won't tolerate Kyran falling for a human..."I didn't think he would and I'm excited to see that conversation. It could potentially create a rift between Hadrian and Kyran. I know Hadrian is one of the "bad guys" (at least as far as the mages are concerned), but I find it hard to completely hate him because of how he treats Kyran (he truly does love him as a son) and that when he started this it wasn't for power, but for Neriah. It became about power after everyone turned on him (or at least that's what it seems like so far).
Will we find out what Alex was keeping from Chris but Hadrian knew about in the next book? I'm really curious to know what the secret was. It seems important if Aaron saw the conversation.

The novella will be about all the Elementals, Chris, Alex, James, Joseph, Neriah and Hadrian. It's going to take place before Hadrian turned, so you can see the dynamics of the Elementals and how close they were, what Hadrian was like, what Alex was like with Alaina, what the Mage realm was like before vamages. There will be plenty of Alex moments :) There will also be an in depth explanation of what it was Alex was keeping from Chris, that only Hadrian knew about. The same explanation will appear in the third book but not in as much detail.
Lol, I'm glad you like my questions. I have another one: everyone has answered that they doubt Kyran will kill Aaron. Do you remember the dream Aaron had about Kyran in PWF, the one where Kyran told him he would kill him? What are your thoughts about that?

To answer your question, I think Kyran is all talk. Lol. He likes to play the cool guy. In all seriousness though, I wouldn't be too shocked if Kyran TRIES to kill Aaron in the next book. I understand that his relationship with his father is important and he wants to make Hadrian proud of him but, when it comes down to it, I don't think Kyran will be able to succeed. He can try all he wants, but he won't be able to do it! Goodness...if he actually kill his own brother that would be terrible!!! Kyran would never be able to live with himself after doing something like that. Heck, I think he beats himself up over not being able to save Rose and Sam's parents. Also, I am super happy to hear that the novella will cover all the elementals, especially Alex, Chris,Neriah, and Hadrian :)

It's going to strain the relationship for sure, but there's a lot of that in the next book ;)
You're right: Hadrian did start this not for power, but for Neriah, for what he thought was the 'right' thing to do. It changed when everyone, including Neriah, turned on him. I want you to have complicated feelings for Hadrian. It makes the books that much more interesting :)
Yes, you will learn what the secret was in the third book, and As I told Monica, the novella will have the 'full version' of that event.

Good answer. You're right about Kyran beating himself up over not being able to save Rose's parents. You will see this flashback too in Thicker Than Water, so what Kyran did or did not do, will be clear.
I want to do the novella to show moments of Alex with the Elementals, as these parts don't fit in the main books. So for everyone that wants to know Alex better, along with the rest of the Elementals, can enjoy the novella.

That might be the biggest thing hat is holding Rose back fro trusting in Kyran again. I hope she can find out the real truth in the next book.

Humans can't see memories like mages can. Rose will have to trust Kyran's word, and trusting him is what she's struggling with.

Oh yeah...man, things would be so much easier if she could do mage things. lol I don't blame Rose though, I would have trust issues too.
Don't even get me started on Layla...she is out to ruin everything I tell you! I will admit though that she is a fun character. I can totally see her hanging around Hadrian's place all the time. She is just evil though. lol. The only times that I have seen her so far are a few times where she is picking fun at Kyran and saying that she is his girl or whatever. She will be in the next book right? I am curious to know what her point is in the story...
I can't wait to read the novella :) I don't think Kyran will seriously try to kill Aaron. He might make a show out of it and seem like he's trying to kill Aaron but in the end, he truly loves his brother. His brother is the one person who can be considered innocent in his life.
Monica wrote: "Oh yeah...man, things would be so much easier if she could do mage things. lol I don't blame Rose though, I would have trust issues too."
Things would be a lot easier. But 'easy' makes a story boring. You need a challenge ;)

Lol, she is pretty evil. Picking at Kyran's patience is her thing, it's what she does. Oh yeah, Layla will be in the next book. There's even a meeting planned for Layla and Rose ;)
Her story will be fully explained in the last book, but you will see a lot more of her in the next book.

Love your analysis of Kyran. :)
He might make a show of trying to kill Aaron but the fact remains, he needs the legacy Aaron possesses, to please his father. Until Hadrian gets the legacy, Aaron will be in danger. If Kyran doesn't kill him, the vamages will.

Both, Monica. You should be both ;)
Both, Monica. You should be both ;)
I think Kyran thinks he can and will kill Aaron, but I don't think he will actually be able to do it. I can see him subconsciously stopping himself by flinching at the last minute or something. The dream Aaron had about Kyran saying he'll kill Aaron proves that because Kyran is just sitting there telling Aaron that, not actually killing him. I think Layla is an interesting character and I feel like she's going to be the one to reveal to Hadrian that Kyran has feelings for Rose. I can't wait to see Layla and Rose meet. That'll be a fun interaction.
Question: has it ever occurred to the mages to use humans in their realm to fight against Hadrian and the vamages? They could actually kill them since they aren't mages and I bet there are many like Sam and Rose who lost everything to the vamages and would be willing to fight.

I just love your questions Hannah! In the next book the mages will realise the humans they consider 'useless' may be very useful after all.
Layla did tease Kyran about Hadrian learning about Rose. She's just waiting for the perfect time.

Last day of the Q&A folks! If you have any more questions, now is the time to ask.
I've got one for all of you. It may sound weird but trust me, I ask for a reason. You've seen a few deaths already, (Armana, Jason, Neriah) if you assume that no one is safe, including the main cast, and if you could save one character from dying, who would you save?

Well if I really really only save just one person, I think I'd save Kyran/Ben. He's far too interesting a character to just let go-I'd be very very sad if you now go kill him :( please don't. ( just In case you are using reverse psychology to find out the most loved character to kil off lol)
Maybe I have a soft spot for him, but after all the hatred he has for his parents etc I just know there must be a good side to him to finally be able to come out his shell and be happy with his family (and Rose!)

I'd save Kyran/Ben too. It would be a Furious 7 Paul Walker moment if you killed of Kyran. Tearjerker!! Layla will do her trouble making between Hadrian and Kyran. I think in the dream where Kyran and Ben talk about someone having to die will have a twist. Maybe someone has to die (but not for real) but some healing power might bring them back. I want to know what Alex's secret was. I wonder how the humans will be useful abc who the hell is following Kyran? It's a shame it's not Alex. Any new characters being introduced that we will love?

Yep, Layla will do plenty of damage, and not just between Kyran and Hadrian ;)

I would save Aaron. Not because I necessary like him more (I love both of them), but because I feel like he is much more likely to sacrifice himself if it means saving ALL members of his family. I get the feeling from Aaron that if he honestly thought it would bring about peace and protect all of his loved ones, he would give the legacy to Hadrian. Or he would give up his life in order to use the Influence to end the war. In any case, I would choose to protect Aaron, mostly from himself.
Speaking of the Influence, are we going to learn more about it?

I can only pick one character to save????? Sigh. This is so hard. I guess probably Kyran, but I might be bias because he is my favorite character. I like Hannah's idea of saving Aaron though too! I have another question. So how does this vision/dream thing work again? Elementals get them when they come into their powers? If so, did Kyran have these kind of dreams like Aaron is having? How long will Aaron continue having these? I remember a part where Chris was telling him that he had them too...do they continue for your lifetime? Sorry, that was more than one question. :)

Lol, you can ask as many questions as you like :)
The dreams are called Inheritance and all mages get them. They are moments of your and your family's life, past and future. They start when a mage's core awakens (age 13) until the core matures (age 19) so they stop when a Mage comes of age.
Kyran is 18, so yeah, he's been receiving his Inheritance too. He will mention something about what he's seen in his dreams, in the next book (spoiler; it's not anything good).
;) sorry, I can't help the teasing!
