I read the first book and to be honest I didn't like it very much. I couldn't relate to the characters that much and the plot twist in the end didn't surprise me at all. Plus, none of the love interests persuaded me. Yet, people keep telling me that it gets a lot better and that I should definitely read it.

It doesn't intrigue me either and I don't want to waste my time reading a book I don't like. Thank you!

@Signe Yeah, probably. It's just the fact that it reminded me so much of some other books that it didn't feel so original.

The second book was my favorite but honestly, it kinda goes downhill from there. The last two are super plot-heavy and hard to get through.

@Hannah & Zoé I guess I'll just start the second book and if I don't like it, I'll read another one.

@Signe I've been reading fantasy YA for a year now so some ideas don't seem as original as they once did.

If you didn't like it to begin with, you probably won't like the rest. Though, I'll recommend Powerless by Lauren Roberts because it's a better version of RQ with Hunger Games vibes too!

I liked it but it wasn’t my favorite series. It was my first YA novel and as the books continued it got more into detail and explored the world more (I think I haven’t read it since 8th grade). The only main thing I hate is the ending of the series. There are some minor flaws and some plot holes but it is a good read. Idk maybe try it out and see if you like it.

It's not Victoria Aveyard's best series but I enjoyed it honestly. Personally I think the books get better as you keep reading, like the last one was my favorite.
