Marianne (mariannemorea) | 37 comments I'm curious as to how the average rating of an author is compiled. I added up every 'average' shown for the titles listed for me on GR and then divided by the number of books, and my result was very different from what Goodreads lists. What matrix does GR use to come up with the author's overall average?

Dee (austhokie) | 901 comments you can't really do any avg of an avg - i mean, you can, but that increases likelyhood of error

probably avg of all the ratings of all books

Marianne (mariannemorea) | 37 comments I wish GR would provide the rubric used. I'd like to see how it works, especially when my ratings seem to remain consistent...
