juno. (junosummers) | 24 comments We can discuss any plot ideas here?

message 2: by Isis (new)

Isis | 233 comments Sure! Did you have anything in mind before we start snowballing?

message 3: by juno. (new)

juno. (junosummers) | 24 comments I have some ideas, but it's honestly up to you. By the way, just putting it out there that I'm game for MxF, MxM and FxF. Also, I'm not of age, so nothing too mature from me!

Royalty/Royalty
So basically I was thinking maybe two royals start exchanging letters sort of like pen pals, but they don't know who each other are, other than that they're royal. Fast forward, their parents have arranged for them to marry each other, but they don't know that they're actually getting married to each other.

Royalty/Servant
Self-explanatory, basically.

Apocalypse
Where our characters are stuck in an apocalyptic world (dystopia? zombie? plague outbreak?) and they have to survive.

Other ideas:
- Mermaids?
- Band members?
- I'm up for most fandom things too, if you want to do something from a certain fandom

To be honest, I'm up for anything, and this list isn't the ones I most want to do, just stuff I can think of right now.

message 4: by Isis (new)

Isis | 233 comments I'm fine with any gender mixture as well! Also, I really like the first idea, though maybe we could mix in a little servant romance too? Like one of the characters is torn? Loves the servant but wants to know the pen pal and knows their duty to marry him?

message 5: by juno. (new)

juno. (junosummers) | 24 comments Ooooooh, that's a brilliant idea. So let's say Muse A is in love with a servant, and Muse B is another royal that they know through letters. Though they don't know each other's actual identities, Muse A and Muse B have been arranged to be married, and Muse A talks about how they want to marry the servant but knows it's their duty to marry the person that their parents want them to marry, and Muse B is neutral on the idea of marrying someone they don't know, but hopes that the person is nice.
And then the big reveal happens and they find out that they're actually pen pals.

...Wow, I managed to make that sound more complicated than it is. But sure, definitely! I'm totally up for that idea!

message 6: by Isis (new)

Isis | 233 comments Awesome! Love it! So, which character do you want to be? I assume one of us will be playing two? B and the servant?

message 7: by juno. (new)

juno. (junosummers) | 24 comments We could also toss in that one of the knights/royal guards are in love with Muse B, but Muse B is totally oblivious to that?
It makes things more complicated but we could both play two characters.

message 8: by Isis (new)

Isis | 233 comments Sounds good to me! And I'll play whoever :)

message 9: by Isis (new)

Isis | 233 comments I might fall asleep so you can choose whichever characters and make profiles for them if you want (detailed or not, either way). I'll follow suit tomorrow.

message 10: by juno. (new)

juno. (junosummers) | 24 comments Alright! Have a good night! :) I'll choose the characters and make profiles later.

message 11: by Isis (new)

Isis | 233 comments Oh, and I guess we never discussed genders...like do we want all MxF or do we want more than one type?

message 12: by juno. (last edited Apr 10, 2015 03:32AM) (new)

juno. (junosummers) | 24 comments Oh yeah, we haven't! To be honest, we could have more than one type, though usually arranged marriages would be MxF? So if:

Muse A - prince
Muse B - princess
Muse C - servant
Muse D - knight/guard

Then we have A/B, and A/C, and one-sided B/D.
I guess one of us will play Muse A + D, and the other will play Muse B + C?

A/B will presumably be MxF. A/C can be MxM or MxF and B/D can be FxF or MxF.

message 13: by Isis (new)

Isis | 233 comments I think maybe we should switch A and B. A be the princess and B the prince. That way the servant can be female also and we can have a FxF that makes sense and then the guard can be male since most of them are?

message 14: by juno. (new)

juno. (junosummers) | 24 comments That works for me!

Muse A - princess - F
Muse B - prince - M
Muse C - servant - F
Muse D - knight/guard - M

So Muse A / Muse C - FxF and Muse B / Muse D - MxM ?
Also, do you want to keep B/D one sided, or do you want it reciprocated?

message 15: by Isis (new)

Isis | 233 comments We can start with it one sided and then just see where it goes.

message 16: by juno. (new)

juno. (junosummers) | 24 comments Alright, sure!

Do you want to choose your set of characters? A+D or B+C?

message 17: by Isis (new)

Isis | 233 comments It's totally up to you!

message 18: by juno. (new)

juno. (junosummers) | 24 comments I'll take A+D, with Muse D crushing on Muse B, if that's alright with you?

message 19: by Isis (new)

Isis | 233 comments Sounds great to me. Want to make characters? I'll make mine in a bit. I've got to go to class for an hour or so.

message 20: by juno. (new)

juno. (junosummers) | 24 comments No worries! I'll probably make them and go to bed. I won't be too detailed though, if you don't mind?

message 21: by juno. (new)

juno. (junosummers) | 24 comments (Sorry! I didn't get around to making the characters yet, but I'm going to pop off to bed now.)

message 22: by Isis (new)

Isis | 233 comments Alright, I'll make mine and you can make yours whenever. I'll make them pretty basic.

Isis | 233 comments Name: Viktor (Vik) Hugo
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Basic Background: Vik has always been the perfect royal on the outside, but really he's just young and confused. He will always do what he is supposed to do, but really he just wants to be left alone to figure himself out.
Appearance:

Name: Molli Reynolds
Gender: Female
Age: 21
Basic Background: Molli is comfortable with who she is but she understands that most people are not. She strangely loves her job and the people she works for, even when mistreated. She is good at only being visible when she is supposed to be and she never let's her bubbly and happy personality get in the way of what she is doing.
Appearance:

juno. (junosummers) | 24 comments Just quickly clarifying, I'm playing the princess and the knight. :)

Name: Balthazar "Balto" Osmond
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Basic Background: Although Balto is a knight who is fiercely loyal and passionate, he also has a humorous side — when he's off duty, of course. However, he's recently been developing some feelings for the prince, though it hasn't been interfering with his ability to do his job well.
Appearance:

Name: Gwendolyn Windsong
Gender: Female
Age: 22
Basic Background: Preferring Gwendolyn to any other nickname, she may come across as stern, prim and proper, but her heart has always ruled her head.
Appearance:

message 25: by Isis (new)

Isis | 233 comments Oh my goodness. I knew that and somehow still made a prince and princess which makes no sense. Jeez. I'll fix.

message 26: by juno. (new)

juno. (junosummers) | 24 comments No worries! :) (Sorry, it didn't show up in my notifications so I saw this just now)

message 27: by Isis (new)

Isis | 233 comments It's good! Wanna start?

message 28: by juno. (new)

juno. (junosummers) | 24 comments Sure! I might be on and off and I'll probably have to leave in an hour, though.

message 29: by Isis (new)

Isis | 233 comments Alrighty. You start?

message 30: by juno. (last edited Apr 11, 2015 11:19PM) (new)

juno. (junosummers) | 24 comments Okay! One more question - should we write two points of view each time so we write equal amounts for each character?

{edit} For example, I'll write one para about Gwen and then about the same amount of Balto, so you can respond to Gwen's with Molli and then Balto's with Vik?

message 31: by Isis (new)

Isis | 233 comments Yup! Sounds good to me.

message 32: by juno. (new)

juno. (junosummers) | 24 comments Awesome! I'll work on it now.

“Another letter?” Gwendolyn asked, eyebrows raised in interest as she saw said object on her desk. Her excitement was scarcely concealed as she reached forward to grab it. The letters with her mystery pen pal had become the highlight of the week, though, not that she would admit it to anybody. “Molli,” she called for her servant. “When was this brought in?”

Balto was in the armoury, putting away his sword. He’d just returned from his extended patrol, and he wasn’t planning on doing anything other than light training for the next few days so he could recover from his soreness.
“Morning,” he greeted as he heard the door swing open from behind him.

message 34: by Isis (new)

Isis | 233 comments Molli heard her name called and she immediately scurried into the room. She looked at the letter that Gwendolyn was holding then smiled. "Oh, that, it was brought in about an hour ago, Miss Gwendolyn. You were out when the mail carrier came and I didn't want to bother you over one letter. I hope that was ok..." She bit her lower lip and looked toward her toes. She really hated to disappoint the other girl and she hoped that this wasn't going to be one of those times that she did so. She tried hard not to chew her lip right off as she stood there and awaited a response.

"Morning Balto," Vik replied, barely glancing up form the book he held in front of his eyes as he walked. He had a bad habit of doing this, getting too lost in a book to put it down even as he roamed about to do other things. "How was the patrol?"

message 35: by juno. (new)

juno. (junosummers) | 24 comments
"Don't worry about it," Gwendolyn answered, a smile tugging at her lips. "This letter-writer is quite punctual, it seems. Wednesday at three without fail..." she mused. "Though next time I'm giving you explicit permission to come fetch me when the next letter arrives."

"Uneventful, sire," Balto answered, a teasing glint in his eyes. "Except for the one time I dropped my flask into the stream, and my horse refused to let me have it after I picked it up." The prince had a book in his hand again — typical of him. "A new book? What's this one about?"

message 36: by Isis (new)

Isis | 233 comments Molli glanced up just a bit then nodded her head eagerly. "Yes Miss Gwendolyn. I'll be sure to do that. Really, I promise. Anything else I can do for you?" She straightened up and waited for any orders that she might be given and at the same time, trying not to stare at the princess. The woman was gorgeous. It was always a challenge not to stare.

Vik chuckled as he heard the story, though he still didn't quite tear his eyes away from the pages until he was asked about the book. He looked up with a bright smile on his lips. "Oh, yes, brand new. It's wonderful so far and you must read it when I'm through with it. It's about a knight. He reminds me of you, actually."

message 37: by juno. (new)

juno. (junosummers) | 24 comments
“Keep me company,” Gwendolyn offered, not looking up as she grabbed a letter opener. “I might read the letter out loud to you and I’d rather have someone listening than be caught reading to myself,” she chuckled. Another reason for keeping Molli in the room, though, was because of her own selfish reasons. She liked the company of her servant, and it went beyond friendship.

“Reminds you of me?” Balto looked up from his corner and was immediately lost in Vik’s eyes. Damn it, he inwardly thought. Vik’s tendency to bury his face into his books meant he had a pitifully small amount of time to look at his well-sculpted face. “I’m honoured. How so?” he asked, a smile tugging at his lips.

message 38: by Isis (new)

Isis | 233 comments Molli's face brightened up with one of her huge dimpled smiles. She nodded and walked over toward Gwendolyn. She sat on the floor near the girl's feet. She did so love when she was asked to be company, or really asked to do anything for this woman. If she was honest, she would probably stick a knife into her own stomach if asked to by the princess. She was hopelessly and blindly in love, always had been, but for now she would just listen to the letter. "Is this from you pen pal, miss?"

"Strong, brave, knows his job like he was born for it. Every woman is in love with him. He tries not to put on the huge smile I know he wants to," Vik chuckled and pointed to Balto's face. "I can tell you hold back. It's probably for the best. You would kill every lady in a ten mile radius if you grinned."

message 39: by juno. (new)

juno. (junosummers) | 24 comments
“Yes,” Gwendolyn sighed before giggling. “It’s so mysterious, don’t you think? I love mysteries.” She grinned before falling back onto her bed. She made quick work with the letter before at last, she held the leaf of paper in her hands. “Dearest writer,” she read aloud. “I can never get over his lovely penmanship. How does one write so prettily?” He must be a scholar, she thought to herself before continuing to skim the letter.

Balto laughed sheepishly. “Reckon I could make several men fall for my smile too,” he joked, teasingly winking in Vik’s direction. Though it was bold of him, he couldn’t resist. Besides, it wasn’t like it would do any harm. Vik would probably take it as a joke. “And my stunningly good looks.”

message 40: by Isis (new)

Isis | 233 comments "My goodness, you're in love with the man," Molli said teasingly, though she did feel a pang of jealousy when she said and thought it. "Wait. Do you even know it's a he?" She got a littler closer to the edge of the bed and sighed softly. She had never had a pen pal and she wasn't sure she understood why the princess would want to talk to a stranger, bu she didn't comment on this. She assumed if she could read she would understand.

Vik was caught a little off guard by that wink. It made something inside him flutter just a bit and he knew that Balto was joking, but what he said was true. He grinned at the other man, though it was a bit difficult. "You're correct Balto. I think you could make any human, living or dead, fall for you. A lucky man you are to have your pick of the world."

juno. (junosummers) | 24 comments
“He’s mentioned it in passing,” Gwendolyn answered. “And au contraire, Molli — I am not in love with him.” One of the reasons she liked receiving those letters was that it took her mind off her feelings for her servant, and maybe she could fall in love with someone else. “And does it really matter if he’s a man or not? His beautiful writing is enough to make any human sound of mind swoon.”

“I’d prefer someone alive so my bed’s not stone cold at night, sire,” Balto joked. Vik was of course, exaggerating his talents in courtship. And it wasn’t as if he was special; most girls only liked him for his title of ‘knight’. There were plenty of lads down in the marketplace who looked just as good and were just as chivalrous. “But what good is it if I can charm the world, when I cannot even woo the one I hold in my heart the highest regard?”

message 42: by Isis (new)

Isis | 233 comments "I can't read well enough to tell beautiful writing from ugly writing, I'm afraid," Molli said. "Though I'm working on it awful hard. Maybe some day I can get a pen pal too. That might be nice, to talk to someone I don't know. Though, it probably wouldn't be as lovely as anything you and this gentleman write. I can only make out my name right now..." She sighed softly. She was only learning to read because she knew how much the princess loved it, not that it would actually make a difference. She was still just a servant, and she could never help carry on the royal blood line for physical reasons as well, of course.

Vik raised an eyebrow. "I did not know you held anyone so high in your heart? Who is the lucky lady, if I might ask? Why can't you woo her? She must be absolutely blind to not notice you and your high esteem of her." He shook his head and sighed softly. "I'm sure you'll win her heart in time, one way or another. And, if not, you'll find someone more worthy. You're too good a man to waste your heart on someone who cannot appreciate it."

message 43: by juno. (new)

juno. (junosummers) | 24 comments
“You can tell by the steady hand and the constant thickness of the brush,” Gwendolyn answered, moving closer to her servant so she could show her the letter. “And of course, how neat and tidy it is. He’s probably been writing his whole life, which is why his penmanship is so pretty. So don’t feel bad about not being able to write like him; it’s only normal.” She traced a line of writing for Molli to see. “Here he’s talking about how one of his court's advisors smell.” She wrinkled her nose in amusement, secretly enjoying her proximity to Molli.

“If I told you, I would not be a very secret admirer, would I?” Balto sighed, a little too melodramatic for his own taste. “Being high above my station has been a constant obstacle, I’m afraid. Even if my affections were to be returned, it would never work out between us.” As well as how relationships between men were frowned upon — he was glad Vik had assumed it was a woman he loved. “I would be content to love in the shadows, if I could continue to serve her faithfully.”

message 44: by Isis (new)

Isis | 233 comments Molli giggled, a hand over her mouth as she did so. "That's so unfortunate. Doesn't anyone tell me that he smells? I think I would like if someone told me so that way I could fix it. Wait! I don't smell, do I?" She brought her arm to her nose and sniffed it lightly. She didn't think she smelled, but that adviser probably didn't think he smelled either. She hoped this wasn't the same situation, and that Gwendolyn wouldn't write her pen pal talking of how she smelled badly too. She didn't want to displease Gwendolyn in such a way, or be a joke. A frown had come to her lips now as all these thoughts rushed through her mind.

Vik nodded, though it wasn't exactly in understanding. He couldn't say that he had ever truly been in love, let alone with someone above him. In fact, the only people above him were really his parents and he didn't have any sort of love for that pair at all. "Well Balto, I think it will all work out for you in the end. She will fall for you just as surely as you have fallen for her." He smiled then looked back toward his book. "I'm going back up to my room now. I've got to finish this before I sleep tonight."

message 45: by juno. (new)

juno. (junosummers) | 24 comments
Gwendolyn let out a peal of laughter. “Of course not,” she said, giggling. “See, apparently the advisor is a rather unpleasant man — even without the smell. Even the king dislikes him so, but he can’t dismiss him because he’s from a minor yet distinguished house. So he’s been given the room closest to the sewage systems — and the advisor has a broken nose — so he can’t smell a thing.” She patted her servant on the shoulder. “Don’t worry, Molli. I’ll tell you when you do stink.”

“Well then I bid you adieu,” Balto replied, throwing a friendly smile at Vik. “I hope you enjoy your book, sire.” He dipped his head respectfully in the prince’s direction. As soon as the prince had left the room, though, he let out a sigh. That was close; he didn’t want the prince to find out about where his affections lay — at least not anytime soon. Maybe it was better for everyone that Vik thought he was in love with some kind of noble maiden.

{ Ugh; sorry I took so long! I couldn't come up with anything good, so I hope this will suffice! }

message 46: by Isis (new)

Isis | 233 comments ((It's all good haha.))

Molli giggled, "Oh my goodness. I can't believe that. Do you think he's telling the truth? He probably is but the whole situation is just crazy, don't you think?" She shook her head, smiling quite wide. She had unconsciously wiggled closer to Gwendolyn, looking at the letter as if she might actually be able to read and see for herself. "Do we have anyone like that here? Anyone that is so disliked that we make them live near the sewage areas? I hope the adviser is a real bad guy, or else that's just plain mean." She giggled again anyway though, after saying so. Then the hand patted at her shoulder and she shivered just a little bit. "And you could never smell bad, so there's no way that I could tell you."

Vik went back to his chambers and let out a soft sigh. He sat at his desk and wished that he had another letter to reply to, because he was bored and felt he needed to talk. He would mention Balto in his next letter, he decided. Balto was, after all, a great man who was very good at his job. He was glad that the man had finally found someone to love, even if she did not yet return his affections, because he deserved it.

"He's old and boring, apparently," Gwendolyn sighed. "Refuses to change any laws. Half the court wants him gone, but they don't want to offend his family. And no, Mama wouldn't make anyone live near our sewage areas. She'd never be so mean." She skimmed more of the letter before answering the question. "But Molli, you've seen me after riding; I'm sure I'm not radiating roses and oakwood."

After finishing his chores in the armoury, Balto decided to head up to the knights' quarters. There was no use moping around after the prince, and there was certainly no use dwelling on what he'd said for even longer. Instead, he might stay in and read a book for once, like Vik was wont to do. Or even catch a quick nap before having supper.

message 48: by Isis (new)

Isis | 233 comments "I'm not sure about radiating roses, but you're always as radiant as a rose," Molli said before letting out a soft giggle. A light blush rose to her cheeks however, when she realized what she had said. She was being so awkward and cheesy. Her crush was getting out of control and she needed to learn to keep her mouth shut. "But um, you actually never look or smell as bad as you think after riding. The men smell horrid after riding, but not you. It's like you have some kind of shield against sweat and dirt. You're a lucky one, I tell you." She tried to wipe the smile off of her face, but it didn't want to go one bit.

Vik only managed to stay sitting at his desk for a short period of time. He was soon up and walking through the halls again, book in hand. He didn't know why but he couldn't seem to sit still while he was reading this particular novel. He had run into about ten people now, but he wasn't about to force himself to sit.
