Stahl is driven by anger and hatred. He would have continued his torture. It is the only way he knows to get the upper hand. Rape is a scary prospect for any women, but torture is scary too. I'm not sure why she feared one more than the other.
Rape is a woman's worst fear - it is the worst type of assault a woman can experience and is worse than torture. It makes sense that this concerned her more than anything, especially after the attack on Jeannie.
