She smiled. She wanted to kiss them right on the spot but stopped herself.
She saw their eyes dart toward her and her heat skipped a beat.
Her eyes brightened, she was now smiling uncontrollably. She very much wanted to lean in for a kiss, but she just couldn’t.
Anjali hesitated for a second before bringing their hand up to cup Ja’naya’s cheek, leaning in a little bit, though there was still a bit of distance between them. “Can I…” they weren’t sure how to finish the sentence so they just paused to wait for a response.
She blushed. “Yeah.” She pulled their face toward hers and their lips met. A shiver of happiness went down her spine.
Her cheeks lit up with heat. But she didn’t care. She loved the feeling. She had never felt it before.
Anjali leaned into the kiss a bit more. She felt an unusual feeling fill her chest, not a bad one but just unfamiliar.
She was smiling while kissing her, which made it a bit uncomfortable. Not mentally though. She wrapped her arms around Anjali’s back and hugged her, still kissing.
Anjali’s left hand came up to cup Ja’naya’s left cheek to match her right hand that had already been there.
She flinched, just barely breathing. She was surprised to have been kissing this long.
Anjali noticed her movement and broke off the kiss. “Are you okay?” they asked, before breathing in.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Just… caught off guard, I guess.” She replied.
She smiled. “Thanks for understanding me.”
She smiled, blushing the smallest bit. A horn blew. “I think it’s time for lunch. Or dinner. I don’t know how long we’ve been here.” She laughed lightly.
Anjali laughed as well. It was a quiet laugh, their laughter had never been loud, even when they were younger. “I think it’s dinner? I’m not sure though,” they replied. “Anyway, should we start going to the Dining Pavillon?”
“Sure.” She said, standing up. She pulled Anjali up with her.
“Of course!” She smiled. She didn’t realize herself becoming softer and softer as she spent time with Anjali.
I posted in the dining pavilion))
