She noticed Anjali’s silence and she shut up, not wanting to make it seem like she was talking too much.

She noticed Anjali look over at her. “I’m fine.” She said, knowing what she was thinking.
“It’s okay, I do that sometimes.” She said, shrugging.
Anjali still felt sort of guilty, though she didn’t want to come off as childish or pathetic so she didn’t say anything.
“Here.” Ja’naya handed the shell to Anjali.
“Thank you,” She responded, inspecting the shell. It was around the size of her palm with a sparkly green color and a mostly smooth texture (other than the spiral shaped bumps on it). She ran her fingers over the bumps.
“I’ve only seen one thing like it before. It was on a ring.” She said.
Stay safe!))
“A museum in Kentucky.” She replied.
“A museum in Kentucky.” She replied.
“I was on a trip with my grandma. She was dragging me around the town, trying to find something that could cheer me up.” She said.
“I used to think I was.” She replied.
“It’s okay. When I didn’t live with her, she was always sweet and funny. But when I started to live with her, after my mom… she was just cruel. She made me clean everything, everyday, she made me read to her, she would yell at me all the time.” She said, sighing.
“That sounds rough, I’m sorry you went through that.” Anjali said as drew circles around her knuckles.
“It’s okay.” She said. “A lot of people have been through much worse.”
“Hey, don’t speak like that,” Anjali said, accent lacing her words. “Things that other people went through doesn’t change what you went through, and comparing things like that doesn’t do anyone any good.”
She smiled. “Thanks.” She intertwined her fingers in Anjali’s.
“Do you think you were supposed to come here?” She asked. “I mean, like, do you think you should’ve just stayed in the mortal world?”
“I think it was definitely better for me coming here to camp than staying in the mortal world.” Anjali replied after a brief pause. “Why do you ask?”
“No reason.” She said. “Just wondering what you thought. I never really wanted to be in the mortal world. I just felt like I didn’t fit in.” She stopped. “Thats stupid. No half-blood feels like they fit in.”
“Thats not stupid.” Anjali responded. “But yeah, Camp Half-blood is definitely better than the mortal world.”
She laughed. “No other answer.” She said, smiling.
( oh thank you! its a joke i found about a k-pop idol named Lee Know (there’s a joke that Lee Know is for the lesbians) )
“What do you usually do on a normal day?” She asked, wondering what was normal and what was unusual for them.
Yeah, I don’t listen to k pop that much but as you can see my title…. It’s a Weezer half-quote))
I like surfwax America and buddy holly))
“I kind of have a pretty detailed schedule, do you want me to explain in detail or summarize?” Anjali asked.
“Summarize, please.” She said, laughing a little. “I have a short attention span.”
( oh nice! fun fact, the day the music died (when Buddy Holly died) is actually the day of my birthday )
Oh thats actually really cool!))
“Well all the mandatory activities of course,” Anjali said. “But during free time an hour of painting, an hour of reading, and an hour of training.”
“Cool.” She said. “I would do all of that, but I just train all day.”
“Lava climbing wall, sword fighting, swimming, blah blah blah.” She said.
