Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments I could also move The Village Healer’s Book of Cures down, and find something else to fit the "something you find in the garden" prompt.

message 255: by Carmen (new)

Carmen | 8125 comments Hola!
I finished 2 books today and started 1 more, but unfortunately one of them doesn't fit any of the extra prompts.
I finished "Farsa de amor a la española" and
❌️Otra vez tú 268 pp (Fits something you find in the ocean)
Otra vez tú (Tú, #1) by Alice Kellen
El motel Sun Down (75 pp) (currently reading)
I'm going to let in standby The Motel, and try and find some book to complete that prompt (something in the ocean)

Way to go, Literary Detectives!

Carmen | 8125 comments I've found it in my kindle The Heartwood Sea
The Heartwood Sea (Carter's Cove Beach Romance #1) by Elana Johnson

Lorraine | 2385 comments Lisa, can you confirm what would be nationality and famous landmark? Thanks

message 260: by Blagica , Challenges (new)

Blagica | 12942 comments Lorraine wrote: "Lisa, can you confirm what would be nationality and famous landmark? Thanks"

I have the famous landmark covered. I am reading a short novella with the Eiffel tower on it. Nationality refers to the legal relationship or bond between an individual and a specific country or nation.

message 261: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine | 2385 comments Thanks Blagica. So a book with a nation name would work for that prompt?

message 262: by Blagica , Challenges (new)

Blagica | 12942 comments I think so

message 265: by Blagica , Challenges (new)

message 266: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine | 2385 comments Thanks Blagica! Than I will make it simple. I will read Fahrenheit 451 for the temperature prompt.

message 267: by Blagica , Challenges (new)

Blagica | 12942 comments 4 books completed for a total of 557 Pages

Yes, I've just hid them to make the bonus prompts more accessible without scrolling down.

message 273: by Lisa (last edited Aug 10, 2024 10:55PM) (new)

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments Good morning busy bees!

As far as I can tell, here's where we're at with the the bonus prompts:

Singles:
✓ Nationality - Carmen (complete)
✓ A made-up word - Blagica (complete)
✓ Temperature - Lorraine (in progress)
✓ Famous landmarks - Blagica (complete)

Doubles:
✓ Books (library, page, ink) - Carmen & Lisa (complete)
✓ Things found in the ocean - Carmen (complete)

Triples:
Farm
Restaurant
School - Lisa (in progress)

Which means we still need something for Tools (single prompt), Something you find in an office (double), and all the triples.
Did I miss something?

message 274: by Lisa (last edited Aug 10, 2024 10:54PM) (new)

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments I can probably read something for the restaurant/farm prompt , but with about 12 hours of reading before midnight, it's cutting it close with all three.

Dr Rashmi | 23 comments Hi Everyone,

I’m extremely sorry I didn’t respond earlier and I got caught up in my work. I had login before readthon starts and forgot about it. I’m fast reader and want to contribute at least minimum 1-2 books as the time permits,I do have read few books over last week but not sure what prompts it will fit.
Please let me know which book carries most points I can finish overnight and gain some points to team.

Good to see you, Dr!
We've got all the base prompts filled in, but you can look through the bonus prompts (on the tracking tab, and see if any of the books you've read, qualify there. Otherwise, could you please add them under the "Page points only" section? That way we get all the points we can get 😊

Keep in mind that triple prompts gain us most points, so for the bonus prompts that would mean books with a representation of "Restaurant" and "Farm" on the cover and/or title.

I hope that makes sense, otherwise let me know. And likewise if you need help or have other questions about the spreadsheet.

For farm, there is Animal Farm by George Orwell. For restaurant, you have The Restaurant at the End of the Universe by Douglas Adams.

I'm actually not sure, I will get to anything other more than the books I'm currently reading. I'll complete the school triple prompt soon, and then I'm still working my way through The God of the Woods.

Lorraine, were you reading Fahrenheit 451?

So with the newest updates:
We're missing the following prompts :

- Tools (x1)
- Farm (x3)
- Restaurant (x3)

Not sure but for the restaurant we need 3 books to get the points...

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments Blagica wrote: "I have a question would I be more helpful to read The Half Moon by Mary Beth Keane-restaurant prompt or should I put my focus on Tool?"

I would say Tool prompt, because I'm not sure whether anyone else is reading or has the time to read for the triple before midnight.

I think it's better to have a full prompt, even if it is a single than an incomplete triple if we run out of time.
