Carmen | 8125 comments Hola!
I've finished the books for "occupation" and "accesory", so it seems I haven't assigned any more prompts!
Well done, Team!! 👏👏

message 206: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine | 2386 comments Still working on proper title…Big Book…lot of pages! Hope to finish 2 books tomorrow. We are supposed to have lots of rain tomorrow. The remains of Debby…

message 207: by Theresa, Readathons (last edited Aug 08, 2024 09:34PM) (new)

Theresa | 847 comments I finished "The Flatshare" today.
I didn't choose a prompt for it.

**Edited to add: I put this down as pages only, but it could fill a prompt, if needed. It looks like the remaining prompts are planned/in progress.**
-----------------------------------------------------
I will start another book tomorrow.
I may finish it before this event is over. We shall see.

Blagica | 12942 comments Awesome Job everyone Gunslinger is done on my end. I will review it tomorrow. Not much for page count for me today. Tomorrow is another day.

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments Great work, team!
I love timezone diffferences - I say something and you all deliver while I'm sleeping :D

Theresa,
That's fine. I can move it to flowers if we need it.

Lorraine, would you prefer to focus on King of Scars, instead of Name of the Rose, or are you doing good on both?

message 211: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments Btw, Literary Detectives!
Seeing as we will be completing all the prompts, we need a vote on whether or not to go for the extra prompts.

I'm personally leaning towards "no", but what do you guys think - Yay or Nay?

I a doing good on both Name of the Rose and King of Scars. I am worried though about Les meurtres du Red Power for type of murder prompts. Do we have another book that can fit that prompt?

No problem. I can pick up Murder on the Orient Express. On audio it's like 6 hours. Unless someone else has something they're yearning to get to.

How does it work?

message 217: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments Once we've completed all prompts, I can reach out to Bailey and unlock extra prompts. I've got no clue how many we're talking about, but from the setup in the spreadsheet, I'm guessing it's extra single, doubles, and triples.

Do we lose points if we do not complete them all?

message 219: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments I don't think so. I couldn't imagine it being the case. if anything, we would just gain more points.

message 220: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine | 2386 comments Then I would go for it but let's see what Carmen and the other team members think. :-)

With you taking the type of crime away from me, I might be able to finish my 2 last books by tomorrow which would give me time for one of about 100+ pages on Sunday...just saying...

message 236: by Shari (new)

Shari | 487 comments I finished The Summer House and updated the spreadsheet. I have about another 45 mins in my last book and that one will be finished also.
I vote to go ahead with the bonus prompts. We can try for as many as possible in the short time frame.

message 237: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine | 2386 comments I would not be able to add a new book to my reading schedule but if one of my actual « reading list » fit a prompt I would try to finish it tomorrow. So, I second Shari and Carmen in getting the mystery prompts 🫢

message 238: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments Awesome, Shari! I'm about halfway through with my last book, which is a re-read so it's quick

message 239: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments Fair enough! I'll let Bailey know as soon as we've completed the last books.

message 240: by Lisa (last edited Aug 10, 2024 06:47AM) (new)

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments I'm done with my last book! Which means we're down to the final two books to have completed all the prompts - Shari and Lorraine, you can do it!

Once you're both done, please check whether your pages from the tracker at the top of the page, and the pages you've listed throughout the prompt tracker match. I've created a table at the bottom of the tracking tab, for convenience, where you can see the discrepancy (if there is one).

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments Good evening Literary Detectives!
We are now on the fast track! We've received the bonus prompts from Bailey, so feel free to take a look and see if anything fits your fancy!

I need to get my kid to bed but will be back a bit later. I just wanted to update you on the new prompts.

Theresa | 847 comments I added Dead In Dublin to the pages only area. It doesn't fit any needed/bonus prompts. I am not finished, but should be before the readathon ends tomorrow.

I'll add the page count from yesterday and today later.

message 250: by Lisa (last edited Aug 10, 2024 02:03PM) (new)

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments Have I mentioned today how kick-ass you all are, Literary Detectives?

I was looking through the spreadsheet and it's looking fantastic. Thank you all for checking and making sure that the number of pages read match. It makes my look-through all the more easy-breezy.
We read a total of 53 books, thereby completing all the prompts! Which is beyond awesome :) Great work, everyone!

Which means that, as I was saying earlier, we've unlocked the bonus prompts. I've hid all the regular prompt, with the exception of Shari's work in progress (no stress!) on the planning tab to make the new prompts a bit more accessible.

This is what we're working with: 5 singles + 3 doubles + 3 triples:

Singles:
Nationality
A made up word - Blagica
Tools
Temperature
Famous landmarks

Doubles:
Something you find in an office
Books (library, page, ink)
Things found in the ocean

Triples:
Farm
Restaurant
School

I'm thinking we can probably move some of the books that didn't fit anything before, like for instance Carmen's Book Lovers, which means we just need one more to complete that double.
I'll take a look at what I have on Kindle and lying around on Netgalley that I may be able to squeeze in tomorrow.

And I think that wrap's this update up.
Have a good night and happy reading!
