Hola!
If you put "Daughters of Olympus" in the "Family member" prompt we have it covered, and I'll move around the book I'd previously assigned to it
We're doing great!

I am working on the proper title Biagica. Unless we can use King of scars for something else, it would be better that you look at another prompt.
Lisa, do we have some plan/ideas for the last 4 days?

Good Evening, Literary Detectives!

I've been kind of floundering since changes were made, so I completely lost the overview I once had of everything, which has also resulted in slower reading on my part since I don't know what to read next.

I'm sitting down tonight to look everything over and try to regain some semblance of order in my brain again. From what I can see though you're all fantastic, and we're doing great 😊

P.S, If you see me changing colors on the spreadsheet, or highlighting stuff, just ignore it. I'll change it back as soon as I'm done 😊

Blagica,
I switched us around, so I moved 10 Minutes 38 Second in this Strange World & How to Stay Sane in an Age of Division up to the prompt of time, and filled the number prompt with a book of mine.

Also, I've added Leather & Lark to the planning tab, since you've marked it as read in tracking tab. I hope you enjoyed it 😊

message 168: by Lisa (last edited Aug 07, 2024 01:11PM) (new)

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments Blagica wrote: "So which Prompts need filling?"

None from those two, but from what I can see we don't have anything filling the biome single prompt. At this point, I think Carmen probably has a better overview than me. I'm still working on seeing where we are with our progress.

But, I was thinking, are we sure Neon Gods fits the Gods prompt? Aside from the word gods, what's the connection?

Edit: Nevermind. It's fine. Sorry, Blagica.

message 174: by Carmen (new)

Carmen | 8125 comments Good morning!
I finished two more books yesterday. My progress in message #38

message 175: by Carmen (new)

Carmen | 8125 comments Except error or omission we have all the prompts completed, but for the following:

SINGLES
■ Planet
■ Biome
■ Rooms/Part of a house

DOUBLES
■ Something you find in the garden (1) (Shari is currently reading it)
■ Occupation (2) (Lisa + Carmen (currently reading))
■ Accesory (2) (Carmen + Lorraine)

TRIPLES
■ Flowers (2) (Lisa + Lorraine (currently reading))
■ A proper title (1) (Lorraine is currently reading it)
■ Type of crime (1) (Lorraine)

I have options for the single ones, but if someone else wants to complete them instead of me they're very welcome.
If someone, who has already assigned a prompt, thinks it is better for someone else to carry it out, please let us know before it is too late.

We have some issues with the page tracking, I think some page points are not accounted for, we have a discrepancy of 725 pages. Please, team: check your pages!

message 176: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments Who ever is highlighting the prompts in the planning tab, please stop. It's messing up my overview. Thank you.

message 177: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine | 2385 comments Hello team!
Carmen, please move Venus privée to the planet prompt. I will read the following book to replace it for the accessories prompt: La Plage. We see sunglasses on the cover so it should work for accessories. Thanks

message 178: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine | 2385 comments Carmen wrote: We have some issues with the page tracking...

There are some pages for books I am reading that are counted in the Pages Tracking (line 2 to 12) but are not yet entered to the prompts count page (line 16 to 71) as I have not finished the books. For now the difference for me should be 633 pages to be added later.

I'm not too concerned with discrepancies at the moment, since we're all still in the middle of reading. I'll update the table on Friday or Saturday, once we're finishing up.

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments Would you guys say "woods" could qualify as a synonym for the forest biome?

I'm thinking of changing the book I was considering.

Lorraine | 2385 comments Lisa wrote: "Would you guys say "woods" could qualify as a synonym for the forest biome?

I'm thinking yes...
Biomes can be broadly classified into two main categories:

Terrestrial biomes: These include forests, grasslands, deserts, and tundras.

message 184: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments I was just thinking since the word in the title isn't "forest" but "woods".

Lorraine | 2385 comments Lisa wrote: "I was just thinking since the word in the title isn't "forest" but "woods"."

Would the cover show a forest?

message 186: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments no just a tree

message 187: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments it's fine though. I'll re-read the desert book for biomes, and add the forest one for extra pages

message 188: by Blagica , Challenges (new)

Blagica | 12942 comments I can do the Gunslinger if you can all agree the cover looks like a dessert? The Gunslinger (The Dark Tower, #1) by Stephen King I can also do The Girls in the Garden by Lisa Jewell theres flowers on the cover let me know. I will start Gunslinger as it's shorter. I'll check back at some point today let me know

message 189: by Lisa (last edited Aug 08, 2024 06:51AM) (new)

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments I've got the biome prompt covered.

You're welcome to read more books though, even if they don't fit any prompts. The more pages the better 😊

message 190: by Lorraine (last edited Aug 08, 2024 08:58AM) (new)

Lorraine | 2385 comments The Gunslinger can do for accessories because of the hat! If I have time for La Plage will can count it as extra pages.

Lorraine | 2385 comments What do you think…if we used Gunslinger for accessory, I can read a book for a the room (bathroom) in the house. I have found a short book that is just perfect for that. Let me know.

I took some time off this morning but should read for the remaining of the day. Enjoy your reading everyone.

Great! I have to admit I am getting tired! Not getting younger! LOL

Summary of my plan:
1- The name of the Rose- for flower ( currently reading)
2- King of Scars for proper title (curringtly reading)
3- Vénus privé for planet (currently reading)
4- Les meutres du Red Power for type of crime (to start)

I will update spreadsheet later today.

Ouff! 😂

Shari | 487 comments ■ Rooms/Part of a house - I am reading a book that would qualify for this spot, I thought the book I'm currently reading was under this prompt: ■ A proper title, but it looks like there are already 2 here and Lorraine is currently reading the last one for this prompt???
This is my book: An Unlikely Duchess. There is a staircase and you can see a bulit-in wall cabinet.

I think I had marked that book down for the "parts of the house" prompt, but swiftly forgotten to write your name next to the prompt. I apologize. It's all yours.

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments Hey Literary Detectives!
We have now passed the halfway-mark of the readathon, so some housekeeping is due.

First of all, I want to start of by saying that you are all beyond fantastic!

I finally got my head around everything and I have to say I'm amazed at how well we're doing 😊 In terms of prompts completion here is an overall overview and designation of the last prompts we are missing / currently working on:

Singles
- Planet - Lorraine
- Biome - Lisa
- Rooms/Part of a house - Shari

Doubles
- Something you find in the garden - Shari & Lisa
- Occupation - Carmen
- Accesory - Blagica & Carmen

Triples
- Flowers - Lorraine
- A proper title - Lorraine
- Type of crime - Lorraine

Does this look correct to everyone? If anyone is not in agreeance, please let me know.

This brings me to my follow-up question: What's the status on the books you're currently reading? Will you all be able to finish before the end of the readathon ?
No pressure intended whatsoever. I would just like to know if we can count them towards prompt points, if we need to switch something around, or if they'll be page-only :)

I'll finish reading The Village Healer’s Book of Cures tonight or tomorrow, and can probably fit a couple more of books after, if need be.

I think that was it for now. I hope everyone is enjoying the Readathon!
