Okay Belkis, Tracy and L. when you are ready we can dive right into the final book Deliverance (Defiance, #3) by C.J. Redwine and see how this all pans out and ends. EEEPPPPP I'm so excited and can't wait.

message 2: by L. (new) - rated it 3 stars

L. | 27 comments Woohoo! Just say the word and we'll start. I'm back to teaching on Monday, so I might read this one a little slower. :(

Sylvia | 13086 comments Mod
That's okay L. we will pace it out and of course, not spoil it at all for anyone

Tracy | 7239 comments Mod
I had to put this one on hold. It could take up to 21 days so you guys don't have to wait on me :(

Sylvia | 13086 comments Mod
We will wait for you, Tracy :D I know I don't mind and it's not like there aren't any other books waiting to be read lol

No worries, Tracy. We'll wait. :)

Tracy | 7239 comments Mod
Guess what??? I got Deliverance today!!! I will have it for 20 days so whenever you guys are ready I'm in.

Sylvia | 13086 comments Mod
Oh YAY I've been thinking about this book so I'm good to start this too.

Tracy | 7239 comments Mod
We'll see if Belkis is ready although she will have it read in a day.

Tracy wrote: "We'll see if Belkis is ready although she will have it read in a day."

Lol so true. We shall wait and see and I hope L. gets on board too.

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments Sorry girls I didn't even realize that we were doing this buddy read :( where the heck was I that I hadn't gotten these updates! Grrrr! I've been on so many of the group threads but didn't ever get this one. Okay so I loaded it into my Kindle and will start it as soon as I can. It'll be difficult with the family stuff I've got going on over the next weekend/week but go ahead and start and I'll catch-up no worries.

Sylvia | 13086 comments Mod
I'm not feeling the best so I'm going to take my time too so no pressure hun. Going to start it tonight.

Tracy | 7239 comments Mod
Hope it's nothing bad Sylvia. Sorry you feel bad.

Tracy | 7239 comments Mod
I have started but just on chapter one.

Sylvia | 13086 comments Mod
Tracy wrote: "Hope it's nothing bad Sylvia. Sorry you feel bad."

It's going around and Archer has it and so do my nephews, just a virus but I've managed to do some reading though lol I'm up to Chapter 13 about 25% in and the pace is so much faster then the last 2 books. Logan has had to do the unthinkable, Rachel is learning some truths about herself, Quinn hasn't made an appearance and Willow is such a freaking bad-ass, she's my favourite.

Darn Sylvia. I hope you guys get better quick. The flu sucks.

I haven't gotten that far yet. I had about an hour to read this morning but none other than that. I'm hoping to get a little further soon.

I'll continue tonight once Archer is asleep and I can keep my head up lol so congested blah. But loving this book already.

I hope to read more today to Sylvia. Hope you had a better day today.

Kids are in bed, I've washed my hair and feeling a little fresh but totally exhausted. Will do some reading before I crash out for the night. I hope tomorrow is a better day for me too hun.

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments Pffft! I haven't started it yet :( yesterday was just crazy. I spent it all of it travelling between offices for work. Anyhoot, I'm going to try and maybe start it tonight or tomorrow night and hopefully catchup.

I'm not very far either Belkis. Have been working 7-7 and I don't even get to listen on my lunch breaks anymore, since I don't get one. I hope to get my office straight soon.

Sylvia | 13086 comments Mod
I haven't read any of this since the other night so I'm still at Chapter 13 so don't worry gals, read at your own pace :D

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments Yeah, totally bummed out too over not getting much reading time in either. Will try and see if I can squeeze in some reading time for this one over the family weekend. Work was brutal this week for me too Tracy :( I too have been working about the same schedules as you 7-7 and sometimes more. Sigh...

Tracy | 7239 comments Mod
Sorry you aren't getting much reading time Belkis. I'm hoping to hire someone else today, fingers crossed. I really don't want to work these hours in the summer. Then again I don't want to work them in the winter either.

Sylvia | 13086 comments Mod
Fingers crossed you manage to hire someone to help you out, Tracy. Sucks you both are working such long hours.

Tracy | 7239 comments Mod
I think I found a really good candidate Sylvia. Hope to start her soon.

L. | 27 comments Hope you're all feeling better today... work, bugs, and everything related. ;)
I'm about half way into the book, and again the pages keep turning. Willow is the best! Logan's situation is frustrating, and Rachel is in a tough spot, as well. Best case scenario #1: Logan duplicates the device and saves everyone. Best Case scenario #2: They get rid of the commander and somehow manage to escape. Worst case scenario: Everything else. lol

Glad to hear that the pace is still great. Looks like they are still in a tough bind ugh I haven't been able to read anymore yet being family time on the weekend but hoping to catch a break tonight .

Well said L. love it :)

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments I'm on chapter 6. Haven't had much reading time with all the family stuff but twill try to get a little more done tonight.

Tracy | 7239 comments Mod
I'm at 17 so you will catch up no time. I really like this trilogy but feel like she gives us to much detail about some things. The books could have been shorter without that however they are still really good.

This is my thoughts exactly. Sometimes a little less is so much more but still wonderful writing.

Tracy | 7239 comments Mod
I took a little detour from this to read Here's to Falling. Now back to my regular scheduled program. I get off track so easily. :)

I agree. I like the series, I'm entertained, but there comes a point when she goes on and on about pain, strength, loss, etc, etc and it becomes repetitive. The secondary characters bring lots of life to these stories.

Tracy | 7239 comments Mod
Yes they do L and I think I'm in love with Quinn.

It's like they author is trying to drill the point of emotions into the reader. I get pain I don't need it detailed that way. However I do like the story so I will keep reading.

Yes! I've gotten bored a couple of times but when she doesn't drag out the same details, it's very good. I just want to get to the part where Quinn turns up, Willow & Logan get the tech, Rachel escapes and Ian gets either dead or in jail LOL!

Tracy | 7239 comments Mod
I'm kind of feeling a little sympathy for Ian. Only because I believe he has been brainwashed by his upbringing. I so think he needs to pay but I believe there is more to his story just in the way Samuel protects him.

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments Well I have to say that I was bored in parts - omg how many pages do we need to devote to pain and suffering and reliving the pain and suffering!! Frustrated in parts by all the chases or near death experiences and lies or contradicting discoveries. Ugh! how much suffering and injustices are they going to have to endure. Honestly by the end I only cared about Quinn & Willow. Sigh. I wasn't too thrilled with this :(

Sadly Tracy, they're all pretty messed up :(

Tracy | 7239 comments Mod
I'm about half finished and I find myself skimming paragraphs. I'm afraid to skip to much for fear of missing something. I am tired of hearing about Rachel's arm though. I mean, I know it's infected but it's like the author is afraid you will forget.

I feel you Tracy :( I had to skim through paragraphs too. A LOT OF THEM if I'm being honest. I just couldn't. I'd had more than enough of the whining and nit-picking and never ending doom and gloom. Argh!

Oh man, I kind of don't want to finish this now knowing that it's not going as well as I hoped it would have. That's a real shame though considering how good the first two turned out to be ugh.
