On the page https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/2585..., a quote is attributed to William Blake. Is it not from Aldous Huxley? I never saw that quote in Blake's work, but maybe I missed it.

Thank you, Abcdarian. I read the link, and it is interesting to find out that it appears the quote was said by someone who almost no one gave credit or attribution.
Quote Investigator is awesome.& it gets worse - there are three other slightly different versions of this quote, all attributed to Blake.

The other librarian (Hi Abcd!) & I can't add a tag to try to correct the attribution to the main one as that needs a Superlibrarian. (over 500 likes) Could you add [need a Super] or similar to the title of the thread please. You will need to be in desktop view to do that.
If a Super doesn't swing by in the next few days I can tag/correct the other three.
Thank you, Carol. I made the thread title change as you suggested.I appreciate all the various services that try to keep us humans somewhat closer to reality, including Quote Investigator (never heard of them before), Snopes, and others.
The original William Blake quote is much more meaningful and impactful, in my opinion, than the quote being discussed here.
I'm hoping a Super will see this when I bump it up.I've merged the other three. I would like to edit to the Ray Manzanek version - which does have some differences.
There are things you know about, and things you don’t, the known and the unknown, and in between are the doors—that’s us
Should I leave well enough alone? I've added a couple of tags.
I'm inclined to add it as a new quote.
Edit: To the op. The moderator (who is staff) is on maternity leave until December. I don't think any other staff member can help us.
