Chrissa (chrissarose) | 1 comments This next year of my life is going to be a huge departure for me in many ways. I am moving, changing careers, and all around doing a lot of things that I don't normally do. I think that the book selections I make are going to be profoundly affected by this change and will also support me in this challenging time. This is a way to keep track of that.

This list begins at the end of October 2009 and will end at the beginning of November 2010.

1. The Lost Symbol, Dan Brown **Amazing-read it in one night and took copious notes of things to look up/research
2. The Undiscovered Gyrl, Allison Burnett **Kind of YA, kind of adult, interesting read with funny one-liners, laughed a lot
3. Christ in a Poncho, Adolpho Perez Esquivel (The Nobel Laureate that my organization will be working with this year.)
4. Evolution, Me and Other Freaks of Nature, Robin Brande **Absolutely amazing YA book about reconciling faith and science.**

**Currently reading**
1. The Rose Labyrinth, Titania Hardie
2. Well-Behaved Women Seldom Make History, Laurel Thatcher Ulrich
3. Three Cups of Tea, Greg Mortenson **If you haven't read this, you should. Could do without the mountain climbing lectures but otherwise a phenomenal story.

Carol Neman | 469 comments Chrissa, lots of luck in dealing with the (wonderful) new stresses in your life. (I think they call that eustress) I know what you mean about Dan Brown's reads, both the previous Robert Langdon books were so hard for me to put down I was groggy next day at work from lack of sleep. I was so glad to hear that he had written another book with Langdon...and now that Tom Hanks has played him, I can visualize the character better. When I don't have a personna to visualize, I use one of my friends...(to visualize a character, I mean...lol).
