How do you choose a new book, by its cover or by recommendations.

Neither, I check the synopsis and if I find it interesting then the book either gets read immediately or added to the TBR.

I learned recently that Rebecca Yarrow has six children, two bulldogs, two chinchillas, and a cat who rules them all! I was impressed.
