This is on my TBR and I wish I could join, but with an estimated wait time of 985 days at the library....you go ahead.See you in 2027 😱

Oh no...I'm going to update our master list right now through December, so you can start ordering the buddy read books you're interested in...so long as you enough spots to order the books. :-) We all know how it really goes.
Does your library also have Hoopla? I've never used, but I added the app because one of my friends said she had a wait list of one year on Libby and Hoopla had it available right away.
Ioana wrote: "This one is not available on hoopla...But hey, there is no waiting list for the German edition :-)"
Das hilft nicht!!! :-) :-) :-)

Thank you Lea!!

OMG!!! Don’t you just hate that! Ugh!!!
Ioana wrote: "Lea wrote: "Das hilft nicht!!! :-) :-) :-)"LOL, whatever you say :-)"
Translation - "That doesn't help!!!" :-) :-) :-)
Linda wrote: "OMG!!! Don’t you just hate that! Ugh!!!"I've had long waiting lists, but I think this might be the longest so far...

Did I mention that's the audiobook?
Ioana wrote: "Did I mention that's the audiobook?"Well, you were born in Europe. Surely, you understand all of the different languages! :-) :-) :-)
There is a 3 week hold at one of my libraries, which is the shortest time. Maybe it will move a little faster…… 😬
Linda wrote: "There is a 3 week hold at one of my libraries, which is the shortest time. Maybe it will move a little faster…… 😬"Fingers crossed. Sometimes the wait goes quicker. I have to have my audiobook returned in 20 days, as 15 people are waiting, I'm unlikely to be able to delay - I won't get the book back for some weeks. Although I may get started without you...I will definitely put spoiler tags and be here to discuss when you finally get your hands on a copy, Linda. I know Alissa has her copy, I'm not sure if it is library or not. I'm going to try not to speed past everyone! :-)
Sounds good Lea. Yeah, when I saw my hold list I was really bummed. I probably should have started looking for the book a bit earlier. You just never know! Ugh!!!
Linda wrote: "Sounds good Lea. Yeah, when I saw my hold list I was really bummed. I probably should have started looking for the book a bit earlier. You just never know! Ugh!!!"It sounds like Alissa is having the same problem, so you two may be buddy reading at the same time. :-)
I just started this today and so far, it is really good. Some good characters to root for and some awful characters to hate. :-)
Lots of twists and turns in this one! I have a few quibbles, but I really enjoyed it. I will look forward to discussing when you all get here. There's a ton of things to talk about.
First off, I want to say, the thought of jumping into a car where the car is being driven by a computer or whatever, I don’t think I will be a fan of. 😬🙈
Linda wrote: "First off, I want to say, the thought of jumping into a car where the car is being driven by a computer or whatever, I don’t think I will be a fan of. 😬🙈"I have done it before, but the car had no windows and I wasn't on regular streets. I always felt I could jump out the window if necessary. I'm not sure how I'd feel about cruising down the highway with a computer driving, even though the computer is probably statistically better than I am at driving.
This book is about so much more. I hope you enjoy as much as Alissa and I did.
I’ve had a lot of stuff going on so haven’t had a huge amount of time to read but have made it to chapter 16. (view spoiler)

Linda wrote: "Finished and this was so good!! My second John Marrs book. So many twists and turns!"It was my first John Marrs book, but will not be my last. I guessed one of the twists but not another one, so then I had the fun of feeling smug and also the fun of having the author outsmart me. (view spoiler)
Which other book by John Marrs have you read, Linda? Would you recommend it?
My first John Marrs book was The One. Sorry my tablet is giving me trouble, I wanted to post the cover. And yes, I would 100 % recommend reading it.

Eight self-drive cars set on a collision course. Who lives, who dies? You decide.
When someone hacks into the systems of eight self-drive cars, their passengers are set on a fatal collision course.
The passengers are: a TV star, a pregnant young woman, a disabled war hero, an abused wife fleeing her husband, an illegal immigrant, a husband and wife - and parents of two - who are travelling in separate vehicles and a suicidal man. Now the public have to judge who should survive but are the passengers all that they first seem?
