I can't wait to get started on this selection. As a fan of the Russians, I've been wanting to read this one for a long time. Who's going to join in on this one?

I finished reading this for the first time less than a year ago. Nonetheless I am severely tempted to reread along with the group. Even if I don’t, I will follow along with the conversation.

I read this only two years ago, so I won't join. I had, however, planned to read Dostoevsky's The Idiot this year, so I'll (probably) do that in August and see if this discussion of The Brothers Karamazov and/or Dostoevsky and his time in general is somewhat helpful for the other book as well.

Olga, I cannot thank you enough for providing this link to Benjamin McAvoy's introduction to the Brothers Karamazov!

I got so much out of this introduction, and he has made me that much more excited to participate in a group read of the novel with all of you. His tips and suggestions on how to approach the novel, as either a first-time reader or as a returning reader, really made sense to me. All of my life I have tried to embrace reading the book and always floundered. This time I know I can do it! Thanks again for providing Dr. McAvoy's wisdom and experience for us to consider.

Yes, Ben is amazing. I even participate in his Book Club on Patreon on and off (currently on, reading The Tale of Gengi and Infinite jest with him) and it's reading on absolutely different level. His voice is mesmerising and his insights crack the books open in a way my professors at university never could.

Besides The Brothers Karamazov, he has lectures on War and peace and Anna Karenina that I really want to get to.
