Apa (apa64) | 20 comments I need help with a merge please! There's more than 5 reviews on an invalid edition.

This one has now two editions:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

The one with ISBN 9781913032401 is the correct one (it has the actual book's correct ISBN). The other edition with ISBN 9781978191303 should be marked as Edition Status: "Deleted".

That ISBN is some kind of typo, there's no such isbn for this or any other book.

Thank you!

Dobby (dobby0390) | 7858 comments Why do you say that 9781978191303 is not a valid edition?

Apa (apa64) | 20 comments I tried to find an edition with that ISBN but could not find one anywhere. The book has been released this spring. It was a Kickstarter, shipping in April I think. Now it was available from bookstores too (as I bought it :) ).

The actual book has ISBN 978-1-913032-40-1 printed on it (source: my copy of the book https://postimg.cc/XrH9TvfQ). Google and e.g. ISBNdb search found results only with that ISBN.

The other one looks like there might have been a typo because the "9781" is repeated twice. I could not find e.g. a PDF edition with different ISBN.

David Raz (davidraz) | 12772 comments 9781978191303 is a valid 978-group-1 ISBN. However, this suggests a publishing code of 9781, which is unlikely for a small publisher established in 2017. On the other hand, I can't easily find the owner of the 9781 code, so it's possible that Rowan, Rook, and Decard are somehow a co-owner.

For what it's worth, 9781913032401 makes much more sense. The code 913032 is used by Rowan, Rook, and Decard, for instance, in DIE: The Roleplaying Game and Heart: The City Beneath Quickstart Edition. It's used so effectively that I added it to the Wikipedia list of code owners.

One way to verify the ISBN would be to contact the librarian who added it, but they don't accept messages.

The bottom line is that without confirmation from the publisher or some other source, we can't exclude a valid ISBN, so both will need to stay.

Apa (apa64) | 20 comments Thanks! I'll ask the publisher about that and I'll get back if I get a reply.

Ok, took a while for me to get back on this, summer vacation over and back in the office :) But yes, I did get the word from Rowan, Rook and Decard:

The Eat the Reich softcover edition is this ISBN: 978-1-913032-40-1
There should not be any other ISBN.

Screen capture of their email in my Gmail: https://postimg.cc/n9ZDGXSQ

To me it would seem that there was a typo with the "...303" edition ISBN. If needed I can forward the actual email to you too.

David Raz (davidraz) | 12772 comments I believe this correspondence is sufficient. I deleted the edition with the incorrect ISBN.
