How long did it take you to read war and peace by Leo Tolstoy?

I really want to read war and peace by Leo Tolstoy but I’m kind of scared to start because of its length! How long did it take you to finish if you’ve read it?

I think it took me about three months to finish it. It ended up being much faster than I thought it would. There were difficult sections to be sure, but I was surprised by how readable much of it was. I did buy a guidebook like Cliff Notes, just to keep the characters straight and review after I finished reading each chapter, and it proved very helpful.

I managed to find a copy of the Everyman Library edition published in three volumes. Treating the book as three normal length novels read one after the other made it more manageable. It probably took me two or three weeks. It was remarkably impressive and very enjoyable.
