How long did it take you to read war and peace by Leo Tolstoy?

I really want to read war and peace by Leo Tolstoy but I’m kind of scared to start because of its length! How long did it take you to finish if you’ve read it?

GR tells me that it took me 3 years to finish it, but it took about 6 months from start to finish. It was my second attempt. Well worth the read! One thing that helped me was to read something completely different alongside it!
I decided to start reading it over lockdown, if I ever finish it I will let you know. I got about halfway through and then...I don't know, there are only so many high society parties I can read about before my eyes glaze over; the military stuff conversely was much more interesting, but I feel like every time that started to get really compelling we just switched back to 30 pages of the high society stuff and lost any momentum.
