i just sent this one in your challenge question lol
but xoxo by axie oh is super cute and good!! there’s also a sequel but i haven’t read it yet. a friend of mine that works at my local books a million recommended it to me and she barely reads contemporary romances!

another book (well series) i like is the caraval trilogy! idk if you’ve read it or the once upon a broken heart trilogy but it is super good!! if you like fantasy that feels like old disney movies, that’s definitely your series! the writing style is chefs kiss its so lovely!! all of them in the series are 5 star reads for ! i feel like everyone talks about once upon a broken heart and they never talk about this one (bonus points: it also has jacks in it too and he’s soo hot lol). i haven’t read ouabh but i plan to when the third comes out in paperback (which isn’t until 2025 😢 so i might just cave and buy those in hardcover bc i cannot wait that long oml)

last i will recommend is the sun is also a star by nicola yoon (? i think) if you want a sad read but not sad to where you ruin yourself, this is the book for you! in my review i legit said smth like “the books ending feels like the ending to scott street by phoebe bridgers”

Contemporary romance: Ann Liang, always. Her books are SO good! Or Lynn Painter. Her books are addictive.
Fantasy/adventure: Daughter of the Pirate King series. Nobody talks about these, but I love them. Maybe you will too!
Fantasy/retellings: Another not-often-talked-about-but-really-good book is The Beholder. It's actually a duology and I love the second book best!
Dystopian: Okay why don't I stick to the theme of not super popular books? The Famoux. It'll give you a TERRIBLE book hangover because you're so wrapped up in it.
