Jennifer Oberth | 20 comments Hello, librarian,

Can someone help me update my "Married to Murder" book cover? It's the first of my Ella Westin series. There are three editions, each with the old book cover (tan background as seen below). But I would like to have the updated cover available and also showing as the default. The cover isn't on Goodreads at all so I don't know how to point you to it. It's on Smashwords and Amazon - it's a couple in silhouette with pink hearts next to a lamppost and the title and my name is highlighted in yellow.

Thank you in advance,
Jennifer Oberth Married To Murder (Ella Westin Mystery #1) by Jennifer Oberth

Martin | 36284 comments We do not update covers for existing books.
If the ISBN/ASIN remains the same you can add alternate cover editions.
Once that has been done you can edit one of the new editions to select it as primary/default edition.

Right. How do I make the new cover an alternate cover so I can then make it the default cover?
Can I do that myself?
The only options I see are "Add a new edition" and "Combine editions" and neither of those is just adding an alternate cover. Can you direct me to where I go to do this?

Martin | 36284 comments On the page for edition with correct ASIN/ISBN click the button with three dots next to 'edit book details' and that will give the option.

I'm sorry - I don't know what page that is. I'm on my book's page. How do I get to the "page for edition with correct ASIN/ISBN"? My book's page show the correct ISBN but I don't see the ASIN listed, so I'm not on the correct page.

Sandra | 31564 comments That is the correct page, not all books have an asin.

Oh - thank you!

That's where I was but the three dot menu only gives me those two options that aren't right.
The only options I see are "Add a new edition" and "Combine editions" and neither of those is just adding an alternate cover.

I'm sorry I'm so confused about this.

Martin | 36284 comments The three editions are shown here https://www.goodreads.com/work/editio...
Each has an ISBN or ASIN. If the new edition does not have the same ISBN/ASIN you should add a 'new edition'.
The nook edition is not giving ACE option, is the ISBN correct?

message 9: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Oberth | 20 comments Oh, this is weird. You're right - the Nook edition has a different ISBN. This is one book--just in different formats. My distributor is Smashwords (just migrated to D2D). I checked the Barnes and Noble website that that ISBN does match what is on Goodreads as the ISBN for the Nook so I guess it is accurate.

So I guess that is correct then? (I don't know what "ACE option" is.)

But what about adding my book cover? You're saying use "new edition" if the ISBN is different. The ISBN is not different. Only the cover. So how do I add the updated book cover?

Martin | 36284 comments ACE = Alternative Cover Edition (I just got tired of typing those words).
If the ISBN is correct but the option does not show librarians cannot help, you would need to ask support staff about this https://www.goodreads.com/about/conta...
