I've tried Lisa Scottoline recently. she has some very good, very entertaining legal courtroom thrillers. I love Daniel Silva, very very good spy thrillers. I really like Susan Elia MacNeil (I think I'm spelling her last name wrong). She wrote a dozen historical fiction spy thrillers. I will admit the escapes and some action scenes can verge on the silly, but I like the characters.
