Tbh, I don't read much Christian Fiction anymore, because of several reasons, that being one of them. It drives me crazy. Not to mention it's hard to find ones that are actually interesting to me lol (so. many. romances.)

Yeah, it is. I'm just hoping it's addressed as wrong. Sometimes things like that are said in books (Christian books too, possibly even especially), and then it's just left like that character is right. So, I'm hoping that's not the case in this one.

While I agree that the “not like other girls” cliche is annoying, I think it fits for a character like Mason to have a skewed opinion of women, and I don’t think his views are portrayed in a way that tells the reader his opinions are right.
I definitely don’t think the author intended the line to convey a sexist message.

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping, I've just seen some borderline sexist problems in Christain Fantasy before *coughs* Ilyon Chronicles *coughs*.

But, yeah, it makes total sense for Mason to have a skewed opinion of a lot of things lol. So, I'm just hoping he realizes his mistakes, or I'm gonna have a hard time with this. (He is currently my fav character, but if his arc falls flat that might change)

Omg I requested my lib to buy the book and instead they put it on HOLD for me from another district! (An inter loan, basically.) anywayyyy, I got an email today saying it was ready for pickup so yayyy!! What a lovely surprise :)

I mean... I started to lose interest... at the climax lol.

I think it has more to do with the fact that I'm reading multiple things at once tho. And I'm not a fan of eBooks. (prefer physical books).

I did finish my SoC reread tho, and that's what I was most invested in. Of course, now I wanna reread Crooked Kingdom...

Bella, do you use a kindle? Not an app on a phone or iPhone, but an actual Kindle? I hate reading on my phone, but I love the Kindle. (The e-ink kind, not the Fire.)

I don't have a Kindle, and maybe it would be better, but... It's still a screen, and... I have enough screen time without reading on it lol. I have to be really invested in a book to fully enjoy reading it on a screen.

It's better. I went from die hard "I won't read ebooks because I don't like the screen" to reading on a kindle. I like it. It will never beat a physical book but I do like it because I can highlight and make notes in it.
