I work at an animal shelter as their behavior supervisor, & reading is an escape from the reality of working in animal welfare post-covid. Work is hard, but i love all the new animals i get to meet day in and day out.

I know I shouldn't, but I do judge a book by it's cover and my interest in a book is often based on the cover art (lol). :)

Some things I love:
Mysteries and Thrillers, particularly ones with main characters that either joined the military (some sort of SF unit, have a soft spot for Navy SEALS) or worked in counterintelligence (have a soft spot for MI5 or MI6 agents but the CIA works too.)
Historical Fiction, particularly ones that take place in Europe, bonus if it’s setting is in the past. Also a big fan of ancient history, particularly ancient Rome.
Outside the literary world, I love long walks on the beach, rowing and water (anything having to do with the navy and ships), playing basketball and football (in the European sense, the one where it’s actually kicked) and hanging out with friends/watching sports at very public places. I’m also an unapologetic Swiftie and a bit of a foodie😉😁

Classics and fantasy are my favorite to read, though I'll happily read almost any genre if the story hooks me. I'm also a writer, sing opera, and dabble in watercolor.

The sun and moon represent Ivory House, as the sun illuminates the day, and the moon illuminates the darkness. Ivories are a force of light and hope for others, and they strive to spread this light wherever they tread.
Activities: Ivories love art in all forms, as long as it possesses ample sentiment. Having heartfelt discussions with loved ones, engaging in literary analysis, and being creative are all preferred pastimes for members of Ivory House. Whether alone or with company, there is nothing Ivories strive for more than exemplifying the light and beauty of the world.
Fashion: Depending on the situation, Ivories dress in light garments that offer freedom of movement, or choose practical, business-like clothing, whether modern or vintage. Ivories prefer shades of white or neutral colors. Jewelry is a common accessory, and anything that reveals the individual's personality.
Locations: Ivories adore well-lit, wide-open spaces with ample light. High-ceilinged buildings, Greek temples, marble libraries—anywhere with lots of space and lots of windows is an ideal place for a member of Ivory House.
