I will also be reading the Braithwaite book in July! Look forward to seeing how our experiences compare.

Anita wrote: "At the risk of spoiling, y’all need to do Wordle today!!!"Yes, I noticed that too, especially since I didn't immediately see the right answer!
Thanks Anita! I always use the same two beginning words - ADIEU, and STORY. I’ll bet some of you could get it in TWO, based on just ADIEU. DEU are in the word, in the wrong place.

I'm late playing Wordle today. Usually, I do it when I get up. Thanks to Anita, I got my first ever word on the first try. ;0)

My starting word is always SMART. I just like to begin with a good vibe.
NancyJ wrote: "Thanks Anita! I always use the same two beginning words - ADIEU, and STORY. I’ll bet some of you could get it in TWO, based on just ADIEU. DEU are in the word, in the wrong place."ADIEU was a perfect word to start with! Unfortunately that's not my usual one.

I also try to come up with words that have three vowels in them. Raise. Sometimes Daisy. I also try to pick words with R and S and T. Roast, Tease, Heist. Teary.
I also do a French version daily, called Le Mot. There I always start with ADIEU, usually followed by PORTS.
I got this one before reading this thread. Joanne, I also use adieu and story for starter words. It was lucky with this word.
Jgrace wrote: "I got this one before reading this thread. Joanne, I also use adieu and story for starter words. It was lucky with this word."Wow that’s amazing that we picked the same words. It helps to get all the vowels covered early. I sometimes use Stony for the second word depending on the results of the first word.
@Nancy, have you ever checked the Bot's analysis of the words you choose? I check it out daily. As it turns out, "adieu" and "story" are the most popular choices for opening words. I use them myself most often. However, if playing "adieu" produces a word with two vowels, I skip using "story".There used to be a Wordle forum in the NYT that was quite popular and fun. People from around the world would write in about how they played Wordle on any particular day. The NYT readers were quite upset with NYT, when the newspaper did away with the forum. Now, there are many of us who check out the Bot's analysis each day.

I used to play sedecordle on my laptop but it’s awkward on the iPad. I go months without playing it at all.
I tried it out. I used ADIEU, and I got it in three. And it was funny because the first word I only got one letter in 10 the second one just happened to give me three letters in the right place and one more in tan. And that was it. But I still like my words. Teary and raise give me three vowels and two of the three letters that I think are most popular..

I can't remember if it was adieu, but it used 4 vowels. My dad was playing it which is how I learned about it.
