Hermione | 18 comments It usually takes me around 10 days to read a 300 page book. I used to read a thick novel a day but in the last years I'm dealing with some stuff and it's impossible be faster. Although when I'm not reading I always daydream and think about the book and the characters. XD

message 2: by Kanomi Okina (new)

Kanomi Okina ||Emily the Seraphim|| (goodreadscomkanomi_okina) | 99 comments It depends. If I am really interested in the book, I will not stop reading it till its done. And sometimes I read the book multiple times

⋆˙⟡ Lara ⋆𐙚♡ (in a gr slump) | 46 comments Last year I was much slower I read like 1 book every two weeks but now I read one book in like two days. Really depends on how busy I am tho

message 4: by Christine (new)

Christine Mathieu | 948 comments About 2 to 3 days. I read on an average 160 novels per year (around 400 pages each).

message 5: by Leeann (new)

Leeann (lylack) | 35 comments It depends on the langth and the type of book. A manga about two to three days and if its past 500 pages it will take me most of the month

message 6: by Morgan (new)

Morgan Rose | 89 comments If it’s a typical 300ish pages, I can finish it in like 2-3 days. That’s if I’m not working, doing chores or distracted by something else. If it’s a longer book like say 700ish pages it would be like a week. Now if it’s a book I am not really into and it’s meh, it’s like a week. So in conclusion, it ranges from 2 days to a week.

message 7: by Annie (new)

Annie Rose | 54 comments 2-4 days

message 8: by Nilou (new)

Nilou (thenilou) | 24 comments last year that I wasn't this busy with studying I would have finished one in a day but now it will take around a week to finish a book.

message 9: by Sabrina Weldon (new)

Sabrina Weldon | 9 comments Well if it’s a really good book and over 500 pages, three to four days. Try to get between 100 to 200 pages a day

message 10: by Bruna (last edited Jul 07, 2024 10:41AM) (new)

Bruna Galamba | 45 comments It depends a lot on the book! If I am hooked on the story it doesn't take much. If I am not loving it, it seems it takes forever...
I can read a 600 page book in a day if I really am loving the story. Sometimes, if I am very busy with work or college, it may take up to 3 days.
If I am reading any book by George R.R. Martin, that ranges from 800 to 1200 pages, I will need a month (hate the writting style).
Other than that, a 2-3 days is what I need to read a book.

message 11: by Nia (new)

Nia (niaamore) It depends on the book! I try to hit 100 pages a day, but if it's a high fantasy with a ton of names and places, I'll only get 50 pages in before tapping out. So, 2-5 days, with big epic fantasies sometimes reaching the 2 week mark!

message 12: by Pauline Reid (new)

Pauline Reid (paulinereidbookreviewer) Depends on the size of the book, what day of the week it is, I'm a very slow reader and on an average day I read roughly 30 - 40 pages worth.

message 13: by Nicole (new)

Nicole | 27 comments i used read around 300-400 pages in about 2-3 days, but since my books lasted little to nothing i decided i needed to slow down to make my books last, so now i read 300-400 pages in about 7-10 days

message 14: by Pauline Reid (new)

Pauline Reid (paulinereidbookreviewer) Now that's very wise!

message 15: by Maja (new)

Maja | 61 comments it depends. During the vacation time, if I really love the book I could read it in two days. If it's while I still go to work it takes me a week

Christine Mathieu | 948 comments Maja wrote: "it depends. During the vacation time, if I really love the book I could read it in two days. If it's while I still go to work it takes me a week"

We went to France this year at the end of April for 3 1/2 weeks. I took 3 books which was not nearly enough. However, I was very lucky: the fnac bookstore at the Marseille train station had 2 shelves with novels in English (unfortunately most of it the usual dystopian, fantasy and SciFi), so I bought 2 crime novels which still turned out not to be enough. Next time I bring 6 books. :)

Sometimes I can read 100 pages a day so I can finish a book pretty fast but then I can go from that to only one chapter, so it really depends.

message 22: by Julie (new)

Julie Ounanian (julzounanian) | 42 comments I'm usually listening to a book , Reading something on my kindle And a physical book. It seemed to finish the same time. Which could be anytime from a few days to a week

message 26: by James (last edited Jul 01, 2024 06:42AM) (new)

James Joyce (james_patrick_joyce) | 16 comments Between 2 and 10 days, depending on what it is.

Nonfiction tends to take me longer, whereas certain authors (Stephen King, Neil Gaiman, John Scarzi, etc) tend to fly by in a couple days.

I'm currently on book 42, this year and this is week 26, so I guess my average is somewhere near 3 days, plus an afternoon?

Anthony Brooks (asbrooks88) Usually 1 a week. I read mostly at night for about an hour maybe longer. 7 days a week. So more often then not I get a book done on average 5 days.

message 39: by Sylvia (new)

Sylvia Prastika (sylviaprastika) | 2 comments It depends. Depending how busy I am and how much I love the story, the character or the book. Usually I can read in one day and sometimes I can read two book at the same time and finished it in couple days or a week

message 40: by Torono (new)

Torono (mrtorono) | 22 comments It varies. Some books I feel like I should spend more time digesting so they can take months to a year (maybe two if it's big enough) like war and peace for instance, took me a while because I could only read so much at one time. I am stupid and have like ten books I'm reading then I'll read one entire new one in a night and do the same thing a few days later, so...

message 41: by Lilah (new)

Lilah Usually lately it’s been a week or 2 but I used to read a book in 3-4 days 👌
