S.L. Scott (slscottauthor) | 49 comments Hello, someone edited my book and put it in a series and it's not correct. The series name is also not correct and I'd like that removed as well.

TBA 2024 3

Someone listed it under The Westcott. I don't even have a series called that name. Can I remove the entire series names from all the books it has listed under it? I can't seem to do it on my end.

Here is the link for the series they created: https://www.goodreads.com/series/3927...

Thank you!

They are not in a series on Amazon.

Irrelevant. If there is a connection, and it seems to be the Westcott family from the descriptions, we would indicate it as such.

If the newest book will not relate to these characters, we can remove that one.

S.L. Scott (slscottauthor) | 49 comments Interesting how people can just make up their own information about books and then they are forever stuck that way even when not accurate. If they can add whatever they want, how can I update it to whatever I want?

S.L. Scott (slscottauthor) | 49 comments Please remove them. IF I put them in a series, shouldn't I, as the author, get to choose the name?

Scott | 9538 comments You haven't provided one yet. I now see from your web page that it is Westcott Family, which is coincidentally what I've already changed it to earlier. You could, of course, have just told us that at the beginning.

S.L. Scott (slscottauthor) | 49 comments I'm just confused why they have to be in a series at all. I'm seriously not arguing though text will come off that way. I'm just confused if they aren't on Amazon that way, why does Goodreads, which is owned by Amazon insisting that anyone can write whatever they want? That website title is not correct. The book mentioned at the beginning of this thread is not a Westcott at all but is now forever trapped in a reader's opinion of what my books are. I guess I'm fighting a losing battle. I get it. GR is for readers not authors. I would just think that correct information would matter. I appreciate your time.
Thank you for your assistance.

Scott | 9538 comments We organise books into series so that readers can more easily find other books they may be interested in, to inform them that there may be more books they will need to read, etc. If your own web site isn't correct I don't know what to say. Yes, we can create a series name is no official one is known.

If the newest book really is not connected to the others in any way we can remove it, but the rest of the series has to remain.
