Susanna (jb_slasher) Here we go, nominate away! :)

Nominations will last for one week. The poll for the November book will be created on the 29th.

Please do not nominate The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest by Stieg Larsson. It is the final book in the Millennium trilogy, and the group will be reading it in November anyway. This will be the second and final nominations round to establish another book for people who won't be reading the trilogy.

Kandice Excuse me, but how can we read book 3 in the Millennium trilogy when it doesn't come out until May 2010? Have I missed something?

I was under the impression that the third book has already been published in English. At least there are some editions out there, ie. this one and this one. I might have misunderstood but I thought the info came from a reliable source.

Kandice Barnes & Noble shows it coming out June of 2010. Amazon shows it coming out in May of 2010. It was published in 2007, I believe, but not in English. At least that's my understanding. Maybe I've missed something, but I used to work for Barnes and Noble, and they're pretty reliable. I'd be happy to hear it was already out, though. I'm looking forward to reading the third installment.

Susanna (jb_slasher) I think it depends on the edition. This one seems to be available from Amazon? Edit. It is the UK edition, though. But it is available in English now.

Kate (kateksh) The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson

Here's my vote . . . just started it and got sucked right in . . .

Kandice I read this book and thought it was very good. Plus, there are a lot of reader's guides out there due to all the symbolism. Might make for an interesting discussion.

Kandice Good to know. Thanks for the info. However, I'll have to read whatever the other book is for the month. My library won't have the Larsson book until it comes out in wide release. I'm in too many book clubs to buy all the books :-)

Trey (toughhouserook) That's a bummer about Millennium #3, I was looking forward to reading.

Susanna (jb_slasher) We have a winner: The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson! Reading period will start on the 15th!

message 15: by Kate (new)

Kate (kateksh) My apologies in advance for being one of the slowest readers on the planet but I am really enjoying this book.

message 16: by Margarette (new)

Margarette | 10 comments I haven't been able to read book 2 of the Larson trilogy as there is a waiting list for this book.
looking forward to it, 3 will have to wait until later. Will jump right on "The Gargoyle"

Kate (kateksh) I'm skipping #2 of Larson for a bit . . . I had Gargoyle so I started it. So far it's great; some of Maryanne's stories are BEAUTIFUL juxtaposed w/ perceptions of a former jerk now humbled by his circumstances.
