Squire (srboone) | 1043 comments One of the books that I still shudder over is Brides of the Impaler by Edward Lee. I find the goriest books to be the ones that set your imagination on the path to gore, so I'm not really sure if the book is gory or if my imagination got the better of me. But I do know that I've never looked at Christmas trees the same way afterward.

But Lee and James Wrath White are authors to look at.

Aaron B | 86 comments Nick Cutter books tend to gore and body horror. He also cowrote the screenplay for The Breach, an exquisitely gooey film from 2023. Best wishes!

I like Brides of the Impaler too. The City Infernal series is demented and imaginative in its torments. Similar themes with Jeffrey Thomas and his Letters from Hades series. Best wishes!
