message 1: by Fallen (new)

Fallen (fallencatalyst) Hey. Here is our thread.

message 2: by Myrtle (new)

Myrtle | 167 comments Thank you.
So do you have an idea for this zombie apocalypse role-play or are we winging it?

message 3: by Fallen (new)

Fallen (fallencatalyst) Sorta..

There was an outbreak. A rapidly mutating virus that spread over the world quickly. It turned many into zombies and few survived. Those few are left, fighting for their lives. Both Guy and Girl A have been fighting alone, trying to stay alive. Guy A happens to find Girl A and saves her life. They decide to stick together and eventually start to fall for each other.

I would prefer to play the girl but I can play the guy..

message 4: by Myrtle (new)

Myrtle | 167 comments Well it is your idea so I'm alright with the male role.
I do tend to play with minor characters when I role play so I hope that's alright.

Now do you post skeletons or describe your character in the opening post?

message 5: by Fallen (new)

Fallen (fallencatalyst) That's fine.

And yes, I normally do skeletons (I call them character sheets though)

message 6: by Myrtle (new)

Myrtle | 167 comments Oh x)
Well all the same deal I guess.

Weapons on hand: A crowbar and a glock he looted off a corpse of law enforcement officer with seven rounds inside.

Myrtle | 167 comments That's perfectly fine.
Now which one of us is starting?

message 9: by Fallen (new)

Fallen (fallencatalyst) I can if you want.

Sorry for taking so long to reply. I needed sleep.

message 10: by Myrtle (new)

Myrtle | 167 comments That's fine.
I'll let you start us off then.

message 11: by Fallen (new)

Fallen (fallencatalyst) Kenadee slowly walked through the small town. It was abandoned, but she was still watching out for zombies. She had her knife strapped to her side and a small backpack over her shoulder.

message 12: by Myrtle (new)

Myrtle | 167 comments Has it been a week or two weeks since the power went out? Dean had lost track but he never realized until now how much he relied on lights. Even at this time of day, a building will be pitch black and crawling with danger.
With a small flashlight cradled between his teeth, he scoured the cabinets with a pause every now and again foe foreign noises. A moan, a shuffle or a dropped item. Strapped to his front was a robin blue Jansport backpack which he stuffed with protein bars, gauze and rubbing alcohol. He heard a clatter from somewhere in the building and promptly began wrapping it up in there. "Time to go, Mac."

message 13: by Fallen (last edited Apr 07, 2015 05:10AM) (new)

Fallen (fallencatalyst) Kenadee heard a clatter in a nearby building. She bit her lip, slowly creeping closer. She didn't know if the sound was from a zombie or a person. She turned, hearing a soft moan. Kenadee pulled her knife from her waist, looking around. Kenadee wished she had more bullets, she felt better when she didn't have to get really close to the zombies to stab them.

message 14: by Myrtle (new)

Myrtle | 167 comments He peered around the corner, sliding his backpack onto his back. "Mac. Mac, you asshole, c'mon." He whispered hoarsely into the dark abyss. There came another clatter before he saw the wild, milky eyes of a rabid zombie ontop of the unmoving form of Mac. His coverall, with his name sewn into the front left breast pocket was the tell all sign. Next to the huge open gash in his old shop mate's chest. He shined the light to another crash, a second zombie then several more dragged about in the building near the entrance. Dean scrambled back into the backroom, knowing he had passed an emergency exit earlier. Not aware that a young woman was approaching the death trap on the other side of the building.

message 15: by Fallen (last edited Apr 07, 2015 03:08PM) (new)

Fallen (fallencatalyst) Kenadee picked up the pace, hearing more zombies. She dropped her backpack outside the building before slipping through the door. She stood just inside the door, peering into the darkness. "Hey!!" She shouted, hoping to get the zombies' attention. Kenadee hoped she could lure the zombies outside, where they would be easier to kill. She knew that zombies wouldn't normally make that much noise unless they had found prey.

message 16: by Myrtle (new)

Myrtle | 167 comments Dean skidded to a halt, pressed to the emergency exit. Someone was here? He blinked when two out of the three zombies on his tail turned towards the noise. He swayed out of the morbid creature's reach and pulled the crowbar from his belt hold. He turned it horizontally, making a face and shoving the midsection of the bar between the gnashing jaws of the zombie. Grunting loudly, he planted his feet and used his weight to shove the zombie into a wall. Smashing the corpse's skull against a steel pipeline. Scrunching his nose, disgusted with the gore that came with his crowbar he turned to investigate the sound. Staggering over the body of his friend, he reared the bar back and took a batter's swing. Lopping off the head of one zombie and shoving over a dead woman. "Idiot! Get outta here!" He snapped.

message 17: by Fallen (new)

Fallen (fallencatalyst) Kenadee jumped slightly, hearing a voice. She wondered if the person was calling her an idiot. She let the thought slip away as she could see one of the zombies coming toward her. She didn't hesitate, she just went after it. She turned and kicked the zombie in the stomach, knocking it off it's feet. She threw her knife at it, hitting it in the center of the head. The growling zombie suddenly fell silent, dead. She took a deep breath, retrieving her knife. She moved back toward the door. Kenadee scanned around her, watching for more.

message 18: by Myrtle (new)

Myrtle | 167 comments Dean took a step back when the zombie fell, knife in it's nasty skull. He lowered his gaze to the woman repossessing her blade. Pushing his lower lip out,he blew a red curl from his face and scowled at her. His head turned slightly, his large burly friend had rolled onto his side. Making a bunch of scuffling noises in it's attempt to reanimate his limbs. This bothered the redhead, making his stomach turn as he stomped forward. Nudging her aside to yank the door open "get out."

message 19: by Fallen (new)

Fallen (fallencatalyst) Kenadee glared at him when he told her to get out. She had just killed one of the zombies and he just wanted her to get out. She slipped out the door, sliding her knife back into a sheath at her side. Kenadee looked back at the guy, half of her face hidden by her black hair. "You're welcome.." She muttered before picking up her backpack.

message 20: by Myrtle (new)

Myrtle | 167 comments He grunted at her. "Sorry- was there a thank you somewhere?" Dean measured her up carefully then turned back to take in the deteriorating state of Mac. Jaw snapping, eyes empty and gash oozing down his front. " You stupid bastard.." He whispered mournfully then fished the glock out of his pocket. He pulled the slide back to seat a bullet in the chamber and took aim, a quiet sorry later he pulled the trigger. Ending the short lived life of the zombie. He stepped outside and yanked the door shut behind him. "Step into a corpse infested building and start yelling, genius."

message 21: by Fallen (new)

Fallen (fallencatalyst) Kenadee glared at him, leaning against the wall of the building. "It got their attention off of you, giving you a chance to kill them." She replied defiantly. She bit her lip, her hand resting on her blade. Kenadee shook her head slightly, making sure her hair kept the still healing scar on her face hidden from view.

message 22: by Myrtle (new)

Myrtle | 167 comments Dean looked around then slumped his shoulders, cocking his head to the side. " Yeah? Are you typically that reckless or am I just special?" He inquired, once more checking his surroundings before he approached her, scratching his head with the muzzle of the gun. "Thanks, I guess. Happy now?" He exhaled slowly, glazing over the fact he lost someone to focus on her. "So just a knife?" He asked, gesturing towards her sheath. "Good throwing arm but not exactly efficient against a group."

message 23: by Fallen (new)

Fallen (fallencatalyst) "Typically." Kenadee replied to his first question with a smirk. She debated his second question for a moment before choosing to ignore it. "Yeah, just a knife right now. I have a gun, I'm just out of bullets." She shrugged. Kenadee had some questions that she wanted to ask but decided to stay quiet.

message 24: by Myrtle (new)

Myrtle | 167 comments Her smirk and tone towards his question definitely pulled one on his own. Carefully sliding the gun back into his waist and shifted quietly on his feet. "I get you, pistol rounds are slim pickings. Mostly ol' rifle rounds around here. Probably best, the noise will drawn them in from all over." He grimaced. Looking back at the door then back to the young woman, noting a change in her features so he decided to coax her questionable look with a clearing of his throat. " Best keep moving to avoid the flow of them but uhm, where's your group?"

message 25: by Fallen (new)

Fallen (fallencatalyst) Kenadee bit her lip before replying. "I don't have one.. I've been on my own." She shrugged. The fact of her being alone didn't bother her, it meant that she only had to make sure she survived, not everyone. Kenadee looked around them, watching for any more zombies.

message 26: by Myrtle (new)

Myrtle | 167 comments Red flags came up which made him lean back on his heels. Alone. Well, he recalled a time when it all went to shit that solo would be ideal. That is until he experienced it first hand that first chaotic week of horror. Fortunately he had ran into Mac, his familiar and the group he had banded with. He eyed her critically then masked it carefully. "Alone? With an empty gun, a knife, a sack and reckless habit? Psh, that's pretty ballsy. If I didn't know better I'd say you were allied with a group of marauders to troll for unsuspecting groups." He raised a brow at her.

message 27: by Fallen (new)

Fallen (fallencatalyst) Kenadee bit her lip, slightly surprised at what he thought about her. "I'm not. I swear I am not a part of any group of any kind... You are the first regular living person that I've seen in like a week and a half..." She spoke strongly, even though she was nervous being near the guy.

message 28: by Myrtle (new)

Myrtle | 167 comments Dean smirked, looked away and sunk his hands in his pockets. Good. She recognized his suspicion. He took a moment to scan their surroundings, not so much worried about zombies as he was for an audience seated nearby. He hated to think that way, to look at her and see a trap instead of a girl on her own but... The world has gone to shit. He took a step forward, if she was with a shady bunch they would come to her rescue, right?

He didn't like it but he needed a warning out there. He exhaled slowly, rubbing his knuckles across his forehead then closed the distance between them. Smacking one palm on the wall a small distance from her left temple. He leaned in close "I'm Dean and this is your first and last warning, try anything and I won't hesitate to feed you to them." He waited then took several steps backwards.

message 29: by Fallen (new)

Fallen (fallencatalyst) Nobody came to Kenadee's rescue. There was nobody out there for her. She jumped slightly when he hit his hand on the wall. She stayed silent, looking up at him while he spoke.
Kenadee nodded. "I'm not going to try anything." She told him, biting her lip. She looked around, thinking about what he was saying in a different way. He was worried that she was part of a group, which made her think he was In a group. She bit down hard on her lip.

message 30: by Myrtle (new)

Myrtle | 167 comments Dean looked at her, the rooftops and the corners of the street then nodded. Satisfied that he might be able to trust she was in fact alone. "What's your name?"
He nodded up the street where a couple of corpses lingered, wandering aimlessly for the time being. "It'd be best to get going." He considered saying sayonara and breaking off from the virtually unknown woman but couldn't be that cold even if he tried. " Look, not sure why you're solo, either by chose or just circumstances but the old saying is safety in numbers. We aren't exactly the finest bunch but we're decent."

message 31: by Fallen (new)

Fallen (fallencatalyst) "My legal name is Kenadee.." She said softly. When he mentioned the corpses, she nodded. Kenadee bit her lip silent for a moment, debating. She wasn't sure if she could trust him and didn't want to end up killed due to him. She sighed softly. "If you'll let me, I'll stick with you.."

message 32: by Myrtle (new)

Myrtle | 167 comments "Sounds good. C'mon. It's a pretty long trek from here and it's already getting late." He grabbed the straps of his bag and made his way towards the street leading out of the city. He glanced over his shoulder briefly at her then continued in a moderately brisk walk. " Have you eaten?" He lowered his arm with the crowbar craddled hugged tight in his fist, hearing the moans and scuffling feet in the short distance. He shouldn't have fired the gun but couldn't chance going toe to toe with a zombie of Mac's size. "Recently?" He added.

message 33: by Fallen (new)

Fallen (fallencatalyst) Kenadee nodded. "Yeah, I've eaten recently." She looked around, hand on her knife. She listened to the shuffling and moaning of the nearby zombies. Kenadee bit down hard on her lip, sighing softly. She looked up at Dean.

message 34: by Myrtle (new)

Myrtle | 167 comments A corpse crossed their path, a piece of entrails drooping from her blood soaked face. Slowly but surely it hit the ground when she targeted them as a fresher meal. "Yeah.Looks like she has too." He pulled his pack to his front and pulled out a scavenged energy bar from it and handed it to her. "Take it anyways." He turned back to the stumbling, jaw snapping school teacher and sank the sharpened end of the bar into her eye socket.

message 35: by Fallen (new)

Fallen (fallencatalyst) Kenadee timidly took the energy bar from him. "Thanks," she whispered. She slipped the bar into her backpack, before looking back at the zombie. She winced some when he stabbed the zombie in the eye with his crowbar. Kenadee looked around, watching for more zombies near them.

message 36: by Myrtle (new)

Myrtle | 167 comments He yanked back on the bar and stepped aside from the dead zombie then began moving. "I'm done with this hellhole." He slipped the backpack back into place then reached back and tapped her arm. " Alright, Kenadee pick up the pace and head North-west." He pointed towards the edge of the city." Keep straight and take the lead." He directed again pointing in the direction he wanted her to go.

message 37: by Fallen (last edited Apr 09, 2015 07:45PM) (new)

Fallen (fallencatalyst) She watched the zombie crumple to the ground. Kenadee nodded. She started quickly walking in the direction he had pointed. She bit her lip and looked back at him, slightly worried. Kenadee had heard his comment about being done and was worried that he was going to try something stupid.

message 38: by Myrtle (new)

Myrtle | 167 comments A distance grew between the two of them, he turned to look several times back at the city. The few zombies left in their wake and again, nothing that alerted him to encroaching dangers. He had a thought to set the whole town on fire but there were still shops, homes and storages unexplored. This being the closest town to their camp so it was likely they would return. "Pick it up, Kenadee." He said picking up his own pace but remaining just behind her. "Did you live there? Or from around here?"

message 39: by Fallen (last edited Apr 10, 2015 02:51PM) (new)

Fallen (fallencatalyst) Kenadee kept walking, looking around. She watched for any zombies or people that might be working with Dean. "From around here I guess. I'm not sure. I started traveling right after the outbreak I guess." Kenadee replied, moving slightly faster. She glanced back at him, biting her lip. "What about you?" She asked curiously.

message 40: by Myrtle (new)

Myrtle | 167 comments After the whole scenario, there was definitely a tenseness between them. Trust was flimsy and paranoia was high so his attempt to cool it was idle small talk.
"A city up north, had a auto shop and a growing list of patrons when it all went to hell." He huffed then smirked weakly. " Go figure." He reached forward and grabbed her shoulder after they had enough distance from the town. "Alright Kenadee, you can slow up."

message 41: by Fallen (last edited Apr 11, 2015 07:44AM) (new)

Fallen (fallencatalyst) Kenadee nodded, listening to his story. She tensed up when he grabbed her shoulder. She slowed down, doing what he said to. Kenadee looked at him, biting her lip. She didn't trust him, especially how he acted right after they had met. But she did agree with what he said about sticking together. Kenadee kept her hair in front of her face, hiding the scar.

message 42: by Myrtle (new)

Myrtle | 167 comments "I won't lie to you, you might get a less than welcoming response. Mac's gone and you're here instead." He kept vigilant, watching their surroundings. "So the more you can tell me about yourself, the easier it will be to convince them you're good." His shoulders relaxed some. "Who were you before all this happen. Job, hobbies, skills?" He moved in to walk more beside her than behind her.

message 43: by Fallen (new)

Fallen (fallencatalyst) Kenadee nodded. She guessed that Mac was one of the zombies or Infected that they had killed. She bit her lip, watching around them.
"Okay, before all this happened... I was a paramedic. After the Outbreak began, I started moving around, helping who I could." Kenadee spoke softly, glancing over at him. "Hobbies, I had none that are of any use now. And skills, well anything medical, I can probably do it.."

message 44: by Myrtle (new)

Myrtle | 167 comments "A paramedic, huh?" He said, sounding impressed. " I didn't think there were any of you people left." He shrugged slightly. " No offense but you guys were the first on the zombie menu when it hit the fan." Dean said and gave a solid nod " but this is a good start. We have a guy that had anatomy as his minor which is the closest to a medic we currently have." He swung the crowbar back and forth lightly " have you ever killed anyone, not a zombie. Before this happened or after, doesn't matter. Have you ever killed someone with the intention to kill them? Be honest."

message 45: by Fallen (new)

Fallen (fallencatalyst) Kenadee listened closely to him. A guy who had minored in anatomy didn't seem like they would be a very good medic. She bit her lip when he asked if she had ever killed anyone. "No, I have never killed someone with the intention of killing them." Kenadee said quietly. She glanced at him for a second before looking around them again.

message 46: by Myrtle (new)

Myrtle | 167 comments He pressed his lips in a thin, long line across his face to her answer. " Alright, and your opinion of those who have?" He inquired quietly. Taking a small double take when she checked their surroundings for threats, something she managed to keep hidden fairly well up til now. He pressed his tongue to his lower left molar which distorted his face slightly. Fighting the urge to stroke his curiosity by asking about it.

message 47: by Fallen (new)

Fallen (fallencatalyst) Kenadee debated how to answer his question. Finally she replied, "As long as the person who killed someone had good reason, and didn't just do it because they could then it doesn't bother me." She shrugged. Kenadee looked at him, hoping that her answer was an okay one.

message 48: by Myrtle (new)

Myrtle | 167 comments "Good reason is a pretty broad spectrum, especially nowadays." He smirked with a shake of his head. He slowly took a slight lead, taking the moderate incline into the dense trees. Tearing a protein bar open, he took a bite then looked to her for input. " Any questions you have for me? About the group? About anything important?"

message 49: by Fallen (new)

Fallen (fallencatalyst) "Yeah, I guess it is now.." Kenadee shrugged. If you had a good reason and could justify killing someone then she didn't see it as a wrong thing. She looked around, still following after Dean. "Yeah. I do have some questions," Kenadee told him, "But none of them are really important." She wondered about the size and the people of the group that he was a part of.

message 50: by Myrtle (new)

Myrtle | 167 comments "Well now's your chance to ask it. We're still about a good fifteen to twenty minutes away." He could see the occasional strangler limping through the foliage but nothing worth veering off the trail. " The positive about our current location is you'll get a couple corpses here and there but nothing like the groups around the cities."
