I did add it after posting here - is there a way of removing the original poor-quality image, or does it get left as an alternative cover?
Details on alternate cover editions here https://help.goodreads.com/s/article/...They are only added when both covers are valid and both should remain.

In that case, I would like to remove the low-quality cover since I now have a better source image (as linked in the first post) but I'm unable to do that on my end! Can that be done?
I don't understand,if there is no difference between the images why was an alternate cover edition added?Note that in your original post you say that Amazon has an 'updated and higher quality cover', was it changed in some way?

The image I am trying to replace was from Trove, which was the only eligible link available at that time as the book wasn't yet listed for sale. The one I'd prefer it to use now is from Amazon.
Due to the number of ratings I cannot now delete/merge the original listing. You will need to ask for superlibrarian assistance for that.Please take care not to add duplicates in future.
