worldcat shows 256 - does your copy have those pages? If so, what is on them?

Well the printed pages go from 1 to 246, the other ten pages in the book is stuff like title page, about the author, advertisement from the publisher etc. If I recall correctly those pages are not to be counted according to the rules here, right?
