Hello together, any bets on how tall the male protagonist is going to be in this one? 😂
I'm unfortunately behind on the reading schedule and am only in the middle of chapter 1 but I do find the tone of the book quite interesting so far. (view spoiler)[ Espesially the conversation between Owen and Misery struck an interesting balance between the terror of Misery probably not surviving the next few days and the banter regarding the dog-like habbits of the Weres.
Also curious how much world building there is going to be because it does seem to be a world where the humans do know about the Vamps and Wolfes since they are invited to the wedding but also are clearly scared of the vamps seeing the reaction at Miserys work (hide spoiler)]

I haven't started reading yet because I've had a super busy weekend (falling behind on my mod duties as well)--but I like what your comment is foreshadowing for me lol.

So after chapter one I only got back into this today 😄 But up to chapter 8 now
(view spoiler)[Ana is such a sweet heart, I'm glad Misery managed to safe her, even though it was a set-up by Lowes group. Considering how bad they all are at communication when it comes to Misery (she is no better herself) its no wonder she spoiled their plans.
But the idea of the thrall is quite interesting while also really creepy in its implications with how Miserys father can apparently do it without even touching, that possibility can't possibly be good for the relations between Vampyr and the other species.
Also in every conversation Misery had with her father I found myself annoyed by all the talk that basically amounted to "the greater good" by Misery being nothing more than a pawn for someone elses plans, no matter her own feelings. (hide spoiler)]

Thoughts up to chapter 17
(view spoiler)[It's quite enjoyable how things are now heating up, the scenting scene was quite steamy and fun to read.
I like Koen already, he clearly knows what he wants and being brutally honest about it does not seem like the worst idea in the Were territory as long as he is able to fight and protect/defend himself.
The idea that Lowe can barely use google is absolutely hilarious, I do wonder though how he got through his studies and leading a pack over large territory so far if he is that useless with a computer. 😄
It's quite interesting how different Weres and Vampires are presented here in regards to their social circles. Its so screwed up that the Vamps basically have no domestic relations except for apparently scheming how to become more powerful but lovely to see that at least the Weres are capable to emulate some social/family structures even just by something so simple as a sit-down dinner, it's good Misery can experience that for a change. I mean I get the whole cold-blooded thing for Vamps but that must be awful to experience especially as a child. (hide spoiler)]

Up to the end
(view spoiler)[I had never really read any creature romance (no idea if thats the correct term lol) so for example the knotting was new to me, but the chemistry between Lowe and Misery made all their coupling have sizzling energy.
I do hope both Miserys father as well as the old govenor rot in the deepest pits of hell. The way her father showed no compassion whatsoever towards her plight or somehow cared hor live was disguting.
The final "battle" was over a bit to quickly for me, also the reveal where Serena was the whole time all went by a bit too quickly considering all the built-up there was towards it. Although I did not see her were-reveal coming at all, that was really well done. Also the idea of her and Koen together sounds hilarious. (hide spoiler)]
