Hello Sarah,Sorry it took some time for me in order to revert to this matter. I've meanwhile asked around and it looks that it is true that authorized authors can not set a book's description as default.
I think thát was the problem and initially I overlooked the word 'default' in your question.
I don't know if the checkbox as per screenshot below is visible to you, but if it is, you won't be able to checkmark it and save the record; apparently only librarians can set a description as default.
On the other hand, only authorized authors can set a certain book's edition as the default one, something librarians can not do for you.

That's interesting. Thanks for looking into it for me. Fortunately, it looks like you were able to update the description, so that's great. Hopefully I won't have this problem in the future, because the blurb won't need to be updated in future books.
