The only way I can read multiple books at the same time is if they are different formats like physical and audiobook, but even then I end up reading one more than the other while other people are able to "currently read" 3 or 4 books. How??

Well I'm just too lazy to update my "currently reading" on goodreads, so i also have no idea how people do it
Uh one is my personal that I read on bus rides and everything. The other is normally for my English classes. I take a bit of English classes so I kind of have to read multiple books at ones. Currently reading 2 right now
I was wondering about the same thing! Like how you can concentrate on the books when the stories are mixing as you read multiple books??
I usually have two books that I am then "currently reading" and then 1 is the book I actually want to read and will finish quickly and the other is a book that I read whilst I'm waiting for new books to arrive so that I can always read
I usually have 3 going at one time...one is an audio. I just make sure that they are all different genres..and then it is easy to keep them straight. Usually...1 romance, 1 thriller , 1 literary or historically fiction...sometimes a fantasy.
I have 8 lol I’m a mood reader. As an author, my WIP is the same. I have 10 projects I’m working on lol
I’m a mess.
I read in different languages (Italian, English, Spanish and German).I'm currently reading 3 books in Italian (a paper book, a kindle book and an audiobook) and one in English (on my kindle)
Also they're different genres.
I usually read one physical book and one audiobook at the same time. audiobook will keep me occupied for most of the day and I'll read the physical book when I have free time at the end of the day. I love doing that! :)
-I only read max 2 books at the same time. -Both are of different genres so that I don't mix up the plot.
-Try to read them both a little bit everyday.
i only read two or three at the same time. often times, one of them i either dont read very much, abandon, or just take for-ev-er to finish.it also helps me if they are different formats (kindle vs. physical) and completely different genres. like, if it's two books that are similar i'll probably wait to start one until i've finished the other.
different formats for me help. Usually one is on my kindle/computer/etc and the other would be a physical book. I'm currently reading 3 (1 kindle, 2 physical), but one is a puzzle book so that one has been ongoing for a couple months now.
These two things work for me, 1- I read my physical book during the day and read on the kindle at night
2- They are different genres
Hopefully this help,
🫶🏻💕
Usually one is a physical book that I read before I go to sleep at night & the other will be a digital book that I'll read on my lunch break! Also reading different genres helps a lot too - keeps it from mixing up the two stories or meshing them together.
Usually one and then stop to read another and then sometimes I have a portable one so I’ll read that
I was forced to read multiple novels at once in college, given I was an English major. After that, I could only read multiple books if they were different genres and/or different formats. So I feel like it was a natural transition over time to being able to read multiple books at a time in similar genres. Sometimes I'll rotate through them one chapter at a time. :)
Like others have mentioned - usually different mediums. I listen to audiobooks during work and read ebooks at home. Occasionally though when I am reading two eBooks at the same time, usually it's because they differ in plot. In most cases it's usually a fluffy/lighthearted book that I use as like an intermittent pallet cleanser for either heavier more emotional reads, books with dark themes or books that are super long (750+ pages).
I also sometimes have like a "bedtime book" in addition to everything else - which is usually really simple in plot, unserious, very slice of life / hallmark-esk book, that helps settle my mind and I'll usually read until it till I pass out.
I can't unless they're different genres. Even reading two similar books one after the other can result in a lot of confusion for me
different genres/sub genres and different formats. i will say tho that i'm reading 4 physical books and one audio book at the moment 😅
I think this may be my superpower.😂 I am currently reading 1 book on my Kindle, 1 on my phone (Kindle App), and 1 physical book. And the best part… they are all the same genre. I'm also constantly reading different books for school to add to the mix.
I think reading them on separate devices helps me keep them apart in my head. I doubt I could read multiple on my Kindle all at once without getting the characters mixed up. 🤣
Also, reading them at different times of the day helps. I have my morning coffee read, my lunch read, and my bedtime read.
Ohh this a good topic! Honestly I’ve started talking myself through it when I realized how much media I consume. For example, I watch a lot of tv series so I said how about I balance some of those series with books. I started reading more than 1 and it hasn’t been that challenging! lol I’m reading three at the moment. But really invested in 1. Just like anything you set to accomplish, whichever you put most energy in will result with the most reward… Children of Blood and bone

Depends on my mood, if there’s too much suspense I need a break from that book and into the next book or I feel like reading a specific trope.
I’m usually reading 2 sometimes 3 at a time. I always have an audio, and a hard copy, and possibly a KU book. Audios great for driving and chores/errands.
Hardcopy is my favorite way to consume literature but I have to have time to sit and read.
KU books are great. I just read them on my phone. I’ll read these in bed or just whenever.
