Reading Mouse (readingmouse_21) Almost done with Queen of Shadows here.
I’ve been hearing a lot about tandem reading (read at the same time) for the next two books, or should I just read it in the publication order?

lélé (taylor's version) | 10 comments When I'm done with QoS (hopefully in a few days) I plan on doing the Tandem read because I fear I'll be bored with Chaol's book otherwise (even though I loved his POV in Heir of Fire I don't want a whole book of it)
And also everyone I saw that did a Tandem read loved it!

Stace | 13 comments I did the tandom read for Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn. As both books are set at same time and it is just locations that differ I thought it was a good way to enjoy the story unfold - you stay involved with minor characters and get to follow all the key story lines at the same time rather than it just being all about Chaol’s journey for a whole book 🤣

I used guide below for read but there are loads of different guides out there. I have seen a few posts from people who didn’t tandem read saying Tower of Dawn is a bit of a struggle…mainly due to Chaol hatred! I definitely 100% recommend the tandom read 👍

Murray Gunn (murraygunn) | 4 comments This is an intriguing idea. I've been borrowing these on Libby, but if I can get them both at the same time, I'll give it a go. Thanks for sharing the reading order list.

Thenerdypsych (drbrothers) | 5 comments I did the tandem read and it's def the way to go. Chaol definitely grows on you and both stories are amazing!! I'll probably stick with the tandem read when I'm ready for a re-read. I struggle with prequels and non-chronological progression which is probably why. Going to AB after QoS was the hardest thing I've ever done but it was worth it!

Angela De | 1 comments Do the tandem read! I marked my pages in advance so that I could go back and forth easily. It really makes the story so much better.

I also thought I’d be bored reading Tower of Dawn by itself, but Chaol’s story ended up being my favorite.

Reagan | 2 comments I HIGHLY recommend tandem read. It helped me keep an accurate timeline in my head, not to mention that some of Chaol’s POVs had me almost falling asleep so it was nice to have a reprieve.

Ashley E Wright I just finished the tandem read and I am so glad I did! I can’t imagine the big events at the end of Empire of Storms happening and then having to wait to see what happens next by reading Chaol’s book in Tower of Dawn

octojas | 10 comments I’m currently reading ToD and didn’t do the tandem. I enjoyed EoS so much, so I don’t regret it at all.

delaney ₊˚ෆ | 9 comments tandem is def the way to go! I can’t stand chumbucket, so the tandem read saved me <3

lélé (taylor's version) | 10 comments So now I'm currently 85% done in the tandem read and I am loving it!! I thought I would like EoS more thant ToD but I love them the same! I think ToD breaks the fast pace of EoS in such a great way, and I love being transported from grayish rainy islands to beautiful oasis in the desert back to the slums of another city, I don't regret it!!
