SarahKat | 6219 comments This thread is to discuss Inheritance, the fourth book in the Inheritance Cycle series by Christopher Paolini.

Pages: 849 pages

Length: 1 month (June)

Participants: Lorraine, Kristy, Megan

Everyone reads at their own pace during a Buddy Read. Because participants can be at different parts of the book at different times, it is extremely important to mark spoilers so that the book is not ruined for someone who is not as far along as others!!!

Mark spoilers by placing {spoiler} before the text and {/spoiler} after the text but use the < and > instead of the { and }.

Lorraine | 2379 comments I’ll be starting this book a bit earlier then June 1st as it is quite big and I have to return it by the 8th.

Lorraine | 2379 comments I hope to finish this book over the weekend. I was able to get another copy. For now, I found the story interesting but I know I will not be reading Murtagh.

Kristy Johnston | 608 comments Planning to read this one the last week of the month. I finally finished Brisingr last week and put some thoughts in the previous discussion thread.

Lorraine | 2379 comments Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I've had some health issues, but things are getting better. Unfortunately, after reading the first book and giving it four stars, the rest of the series didn't work for me. As you know, I didn't even read the third book. The fourth book started off okay, but at one point, it began to drag. I think his writing style started to get on my nerves. Sentences like:

"…we would fall before him like dry leaves before a winter storm," or
"…the dragons' blood rained from the sky like a summer downpour."
These are really too much. And this is in English—French uses even more words, so you can imagine!

As much as I love dragons and fantasy, this series was not for me. Maybe I'm getting too old for YA books...
