Rachael | 123 comments Hello! I'm super into Japanese fiction too! I think reading diversely is so, so important! You can check out my translated fiction shelf, it has a lot of Japanese fiction, as well as other translated fiction.

Some recommendations I have are:
Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami - magical realism
Breasts and Eggs by Mieko Kawakami - feminism
Earthlings by Sayaka Murata - societal commentary (check TWs)
The Memory Police by Yoko Ogawa - dystopian
The Sailor Who Fell from Grace with the Sea by Yukio Mishima - classic
No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai - classic
Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto - literary, lgbtq

I have many more recommendations, but these are some of my favorites! I hope you'll enjoy them
