Help with Duma key?

Hi all! I’ve never posted on a forum before so I hope this reaches who I need it to be:) I started reading Duma key about two summers ago. Life happened and I put it on hold until this weekend. I’m already almost 300 pages in and really don’t have the time to backtrack so I’d like to pick up where I left off. I recall quite a bit from the first 9 chapters but I’m fear of forgetting anything important is there anyone in this group familiar enough with the book that you could give me a synopsis of chapters 1-9?
