[Done] How do I proceed? - error while creating ACE

I have seen this happen when the description is incorrectly imported from Amazon and lack of spacing means it is wrongly seen as containing web links. If this is the case correct the description, add the ASIN back and then create ACE.

When the ACE was created I got an error box stating there was an problem with validation - so I suppose that was the reason the edition wasn't created correctly/why the original edition was replaced with the ACE.
What you describe is limited to book descriptions only not the actual data set for the actual book edition - and disregarding the initial issue when it first occurred I'm able to deal with that one easily.

Have you tried the process I outlined above?

Yes that was my question, how to proceed when the system replaced the original edition instead of creating an ACE.
Thank you!

I used the cover from the ebook edition as it was identical or similar enough I didn't notice any differences and hope the resolution is good enough.

Amazon made no changes to that edition since last year, they are all your changes.

As soon as a cover is replaced the old one is gone!

I know I tried that one yesterday but it's not showing in the change log (as does not the original change/cover deletion) - as I said this book edition is buggy and acting up in ways I've not come across before.
Only when I saved the book changes and went to the previous one I noticed the original book page was changed instead of creating a new book edition and the ASIN was deleted entirely (which I re-added)
I was wondering what the correct way is to deal with this issue:
1. Should I re-create the old one (as far as possible) and change publication date for the new one to May 2024 (as is usually done automatically) or
2. should I just leave it the way the system just done with a librarian note stating the incorrect changes happened due to a bug that overwritten the original edition instead of creating an ACE?
