I did the first one which you can find here:The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes
But then I realized that the site doesn't show the individual ISBNs. Please take photos of the publication pages. You did an amazing job providing all of the info that we need. But the verification of the ISBNs is tantamount. You can load the pages to you profile.
I am going to add the covers to mine so that others can use them to create the rest of the books.
Also, normally we want only one book per request. In this case I understand why you did all of them at once. Other librarians may not.
Well actually, the individual books should not be added as individual book records at all (unless the OP can prove that they were published individually as well, not just as a part of a box set.) Otherwise it is against the policy and only the box set should remain as a book record in the database. *All the links you provided lead to a Sherlock Holmes Collection (6 Book Set). Individual volumes may be displayed, but you can't really buy them as separate books, only as a collection.
Sorry to disappoint but those books are not valid for inclusion (at least not separately). I am marking the one Tawnya added as "invalid" and closing the thread. (If you can prove each volume has been published as a standalone, we can add it).
I never understood that. If someone buys books that are used they have no way of knowing they were part of a set. I do not leave my house anymore, but when I did I would go to the used book seller Edward McKays monthly. I can guarantee some that I bought were part of sets because of the way the covers could be put together an form a tableau. As for new items I was curious and just looked up a book I own.
Storm Front
That book is part of a 3-boxset. I got rid of the cardboard container years ago.
GoodReads needs to get a clue about some of their rules.
I am still ticked off about the comic rule. The fact that the powers that be don't understand the difference between a comic and a graphic novel is rather frightening for a site that is supposed to be about books.
Yeah I find this rule to be a bit ridiculous as well - I mean what does it matter if it was bought as a box set or as an individual volume, it still needs to be read as a separate book/story (anthologies or "3in1 books" are a different story), but you know, rules are rules. But I totally agree with you that the policy should go through some major upgrades... Coloring books are valid for inclusion (what?) but comic books without the ISBN are not? You can't even read a coloring book, but it's allowed to be added?
Unfortunately I don't think that they're planning to do any kind of changes within the policy anytime soon - there was a conversation about this issue a while ago (I am pretty sure comic books and fanfiction were involved in that conversation... among other things) but nothing changed (or at least nothing major).
