I saw you finished today and figured I could knock it out real quick. It was a a fun one! Alexis towards the end was definitely a highlight - she was funny and I am very curious about her background. It seems like Dante will be the one in the next installment potentially.
dang you ladies are fast! I started this last night. My first thoughts are, Brie at the moment (In Ch 1) sounded too much like Cinnamon, so it felt like we're not getting a different FMC, but hopefully it changes in the next few chapters.
I really like Felix! Ch 2 is looking up and I enjoyed the interactions between Felix and Brie. Love that Brie is a book girl hahha don't we all wish our fantasies would come true
Chapter 5 should not be read in public 🫣I have to say though that given these demons have been under a spell for centuries, I'm surprised they don't need a little practise/some help

I know there are only the 3 books thus far but I'm curious if the author will write additional ones about some of these other characters.
@Dia - I agree that Brie and Cin are pretty similar so I understand the apprehension there. There are DEFINITELY some chapters that should not be read in public unless you have a top tier poker face. lol
I just finished! It is a faster read than Cin's story. Again, everything tied up quite cleanly and it felt like it happened too fast. I guess when there's a group of demons, the bad guys get defeated quite quickly. I also wished we had seen more of a discussion between Felix and Brie (view spoiler). I wished we had more world building for this universe. I accidentally spoiled myself so I found out who the heroine of book 3 is and I want to read it to find out what happened??
@Catherine and @Brianna yes the sunbeam story would have been interesting or even Usha because how does sex with a lamia work??
Unfortunately I got hit by a really bad fever and wasn't able to read in time, but I'm going to try and get through at the start of the month in case y'all are doing a read of book 3.
I am a bit behind (I'm almost halfway through). It is going really fast so far. I am a little weirded out by the knotting thing - I had never heard of it until this year and this is the third book that has had that in it and it still kinda freaks me out. I'll be interested to see how the mystery of the missing girls plays out. As for Chapter 5, yeah.... I'm listening to the book while working (from home, doing busy no-brain needed work) and my husband comes into the office in that chapter. I kept pausing it, lol, so I don't get "commentary" about the type of book I'm listening to.
@Dia - I agree about wanting more of a conversation between Brie and Felix at the end about those things. @LiteraryCryptid - Currently there are no plans to read the 3rd but I am willing to do so in the 2nd half of June if anyone is wanting to.
@Leslie - Yeah the knotting thing is new to me and it's been in a couple of books read this year. I think it's an "Omegaverse" thing which is gaining popularity pretty sure.
Knotting is common in omegaverse as Brianna pointed out and also in werewolf related canon as it's based on canines (dogs knot too!). Perhaps it should have been one of the TW. @LiteraryCryptid hope you're feeling better!
I finally finished this yesterday! (whew) and just in time (I only get so many hours of audio and I'm out for a while now). So far, Felix is my favorite character in the Mead Mishaps world - I liked him a bit in the first book, but he was utterly adorable in this book. I guess I have a thing for puppies/dogs, lol, and he has that kind of personality and then some. I guess I should have waited on my comment about the knotting because they explain it towards the end of the book, how it fits in the omegaverse. It was really fitting that they had Brie be a werewolf/paranormal romance lover so some things could be explained without seeming like a sidebar. And the lamia - just, wow. I am with you guys that there should have been more of a discussion between Brie and Felix towards the end about her future, but at least he will be there for her.
I'd like to read the third book too but it looks like it's ~10 weeks before it is available for me. Sounds like Dante is even more of a grumpasaurus than Fallon, so it should be interesting.
