There is a book I read in elementary school that I liked very much. It did not seem that much like a children's book though. It was a very good book. I remember that there was an apple on the cover. I am pretty sure the title of this book was a girl's name... I think it might have started with an E. I think this book was about a girl who lived on an apple orchard, and there may have been a boy in it who influenced her throughout the book.

One of the main characters is E.D. full name Edith. She and her family's foster kid, Jake, learn to be friends throughout the book.
