Hmmm... How does one measure the worst? Are we restrained to a specific category or is this just the ultimate, supreme worst of the worst? Because I think that post is taken already ...
I wish. I really do. I would love to write something popular enough for people to make fanart of it. 😊
@P. Facts 😂 ( I can say this as I chose to pursue other careers than my writing for this purpose) Although thats how JK Rowling wrote HP. Single mom, desperate for income, look at her now!
Heh... Well... I make about $3.00 per book sold. At the current rate, I am 234155932 days from breaking even.Maybe on the whole series, I will catch up, but I am not there yet. I am not sure I really care about the money anyway, TBH. I have a day job. It just be nice to be appreciated for the work, even if there is no money.
Course, money doesn't hurt.
JK is an anomaly. A good role model as to what can happen, but she is 1 in 4,000,000,000 of people that will happen to.ATM, I am in the 4,000,000,000 who are in the red.

Oh, that's cool. I didn't know that.
This is true. Still, gives me hope when I feel like quitting. I've also been told its not the authors who write the best stories but the ones who never give up that get published.
@Bella it does sound nice, doesn't it?
Yeah, thinking about things like that can be encouraging.@Angela Yes, it does, until I start to worry that I'll never be able to write enough lol.
I do have some fan art of my story :) but I am not sure how I would share it with you.Being an author is not all writing the books. The writing part is the art side. After publishing, it become marketing, which does not leave a lot of time for new creations. So...its not all roses.
I prefer the creating, but as the saying goes, they don't build ships to stay in the harbor.
I dont think of my story as an overnight read, its meant to linger long after its been read, and will likely grow in recognition over time. Maybe not.... But, I think that is its more likely route. It will burn slow and long, and not all at once and then be over.

Nice. What's your book called?
(@P Yeah, I know, I actually took an indie-publishing course earlier this year and will be going over it again when I'm actually ready to publish.)

With the ease of self publishing, anyone can be published now. That statement will not prove to be true. It may be instead, those who stick with it get more readers, but...publishing is no longer a difficult task.I get the impression most of you are readers. The energy is totally different than the authors I hang with.

Well, this is Goodreads. But... I thought pretty much all authors were also readers? And anyone can be published now, the question is if they can actually market their books lol.

I have every right (it’s also not spelled “rite” 😜). I’ve MADE the stuff before. Yummmmy

@Bella its so easy to let thoughts like that get to you isn't it@P. Well I definitely appreciate your honesty. Its encouraging enough to know it can be done.
@Ava well what would authors be without people to read what's been written?
(@Angela Yeah... especially when I haven't been able to finish a book in like a year. *sighs* I know I should just make myself stick with one until I finish but... what is my niche? I'm still figuring it out)
