Jade | 13 comments Hello all!

First off, I just finished The Girl Next Door by Jack Ketchum and while I did like it, I need to talk to someone about it LOL. I am disturbed. And as a horror fan, I feel like that's hard to do.

Also, has anyone read any of his other books??

Paul (Stephen King's version) | 13 comments I read ladies night but I didn't really rate it Jade

Squire (srboone) | 1043 comments I found the book disturbing, but well-written. I rated it 5-stars. Jack Ketchum takes no prisoners with his fiction. His fiction always challenges me in some way. That's why I read his stuff.

Jade | 13 comments Good to know thanks you guys!!

Squire (srboone) | 1043 comments I'm not going to pretend that I was an abused child by any means. Nor a pampered one. Just an average, basically well-adjusted, joe.

Squire (srboone) | 1043 comments ...said the man in the pink bunny suit.

JD (arcticvoid58) I've read a few Ketchum books other than The Girl Next Door, and the main theme is how well he writes the brutality. If that's what you're looking for, he has a lot more to offer.

Good to know! Any specific titles you recommend?

I have yet to read anything by Ketchum that wasn’t spectacular. The man wrung so much emotion out of his characters. It’s impossible to walk away without feeling his books for days and weeks.

Squire (srboone) | 1043 comments one of the most disturbing Ketchum books I've read is his novella I'm Not Sam. It's a brutal book, but not in a violent sense.

Even a book like Red makes your blood boil as you’re turning the pages.
