Kie (kie06) | 96 comments I think if I allowed myself to take the time and effort to understand and comprehend the book I’d finally be able to finish it, but still two attempts later and I always get lost around the 50% mark.

Brian | 186 comments It was one of the better Jane Austen books l've read. 4.5 - Stars.

Henna_UwU | 99 comments It's one of my favorite books of all time. Austen's humor is fantastic and really shines throughout the book, especially with Miss Bingley and Mrs. Bennet, who are my absolute favorites.

Judith Speed | 208 comments I’ve read it, but for some reason couldn’t get excited about it. I far preferred the 3 younger Bennet sisters.
I also find it quite galling that these so-called free spirited heroines who declare they are only going to marry for love, always end up with somebody eminently suitable. You don’t see them pairing off with the butler.

Ethan It's a good book to read and re-read. I've read it a few times and I enjoy it more each time!
It's also a good book to read to get into more serious reading and analysis. Reading it with SparkNotes or another guide can be rewarding!

Emma | 112 comments It's really good, one of the best books I've ever read. I really like older romances when the romance focuses more on the characters actually building a connection, and the social satire is fantastic.

That said, I think Emma is Jane Austen's real masterpiece. It's the funniest book I've ever read, and it's just a delight.

But P&P is amazing :D :D :D.

Richaar | 133 comments I watched the movie 2 times and thought it was overrated. Is the book better? Is it worth reading?

Tanja | 315 comments I have never liked it tbh. It wasn't able to pique my interest

Jonathan (joewalt) | 56 comments I first read it many years ago, and I have it in my to read list to read it again.

Imogen Martin | 2 comments This is one of my all-time favorite books. It was a set-text at school so I had the time to pick it apart, laugh at the jokes, appreciate the characterisation. I read it again just after the birth of my second daughter, because I wanted to read something I KNEW I'd love. It heavily influenced my thinking when I started writing my own books (although I'd NEVER compare my stuff with the divine Jane). I'd say, give it a go, but try to read it slowly, rather than skip forward for plot.

Vik | 5 comments This is one of my all time favourites. I have read it in school and reread it last year.
