Review:
I listened on audio and it was very good. I have usually don’t enjoy YA books, the characters can be boring. The characters in this book were interesting and didn’t bore me. This series is not quite as good as the Illuminae trilogy. It was a hard act to follow. I will continue on with this series to see what happens.
Also, since the change to winter time, the shelf call is at midnight for me, and today I'm definitely not going to be awake for that. I'll post the call tomorrow morning once I'm up :-)

Ilona Andrews' books are always a fun read. This one took me a while to get into as there is a looot of politics involved and I needed to wrap my head around it all but the creativity for the various species involved in this book is once again what their books always promise to be. When I grow up, I want an inn like Gertrude Hunt.

There are too few tags to open that infamous first page of tags to get the number of tags. The book is still relatively new and non-US/UK books just don't get the same kind of attention on GR.

Review:
The prologue was interesting, but a little confusing not knowing the world of Talamh. Then the first chapter focuses on Breen, who knows nothing about Talamh or her connection to it, and we don't really either until she learns all of it. It was slow going at times, trying to learn all that happened and is happening in Talamh, but overall still a fun read. Before reaching the end I was looking forward to reading the next book, but after that ending...I want to read it now.

Review:
The book starts off at exactly the moment where the first book left off (on a sort of mini cliffhanger), and proceeds with the story. At times, I was wondering it if it was going to suffer from second-book-syndrome but it worked out well and what I do like, even if one such instance shocked me a tad, is that the author tends not to pull her punches (too much). The characters develop further, the story progresses nicely, and there are dragons. Need I say more? It has dragons :-)

This has been sitting on my TBR, staring at me accusingly ever since I got a copy of the Waterstones exclusive edition. Now that the second book is on the horizon, I should probably finally read this.
I will not exclude however that I might pick up a different, shorter book. I am fairly behind after all.

Review: I really liked this book. I am drawn to African literature, I was in the Peace Corps in Ghana for 2 years , eons ago. I loved the description of West African life, how Christianity and the English colonization influenced African life. I will read the next book in this trilogy.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a bit confusing with the switching of back and forth in the timeline. There were also many characters to sort out. The author drew me into the story that I continued despite this confusion. My favorite character was Judy the detective. I loved how she was able to get information out of everyone much to the chagrin of her superiors. I reccomend this book.

Shelf #6 ~ 6 Dec: R - "Roadtrip" or reaper(s)Requirement: Choose a book using one of the following options ...

I'll go on the hunt for a SHORT (for my standards..) book that I had to drive to purchase, which is usually the case. I even have to drive to go to the pack-up station or post office to get the books I ordered ;-))

Review:
Not as enjoyable as the first book...I'm not sure if it's because of the quasi-love triangle, don't care for most love triangles, or something else. That being said, I still had fun reading the book and want to read the next book. I really want to know why certain things are happening and why Avery was chosen for certain...if it ever gets revealed.

Review:
This has fall vibes, is set in a small town, and was very easy to read. Did I love it? No. But I did enjoy it.
Jeanie is given ownership of her aunt's café, because her aunt wants to retire and enjoy her life. After moving to Dream Harbor, love that name for a town, Jeanie starts to have random things happening and she isn't sure if it's vandal(s) or her imagination.
The romance was very insta-love...not my favorite. They had some miscommunication, which is understandable with how quickly they got together.
I'm not sure if I'll continue with the series, but I'm not ruling it out.
